Unhappy Faulty Gas Tank?

Has anyone encountered water in the charcol filter and in the gas tank? This has happened and now I have to replace the entire tank/filter, etc on my 2010 MO. Any input regarding other issues out there would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

Charcoal filter? Are you referring to the EVAP cannister? If that is the case then the most likely culprit is a defective vent valve on the cannister. Either way the EVAP cannister needs to be replaced once it becomes waterlogged.

If not a defective valve on the EVAP, then I'd be seriously looking at where I fuel up, and the quality of said fuel.

Why in heaven's name would that require replacing the tank??? Never heard of such a thing.

Replace the external parts, load up the gas with "drier" stuff, and drive the whee out of it. Even if there's some rust in the tank, add a big filter to the gas line and change it every six months.

Do you mean input reading as in your gas gage doesn't work properly? If so have you tried using STP complete fuel system cleaner? My brother show's a mechanic recommended I give it try on my MO 09 when I started having issues and the problem went away.
