I got a Hitch installed some time ago but didn't put in the electrical wiring for towing larger items.
In a few months I need to move a car about 400 miles and I assume that I need brake lights etc. on the trailer? So I was wondering if I should try to get a "standard" connector for trailers, I really don't know what they are, or just have U haul mess around with my wiring. Any thoughts as to how hard it would be to install a connector in a permanent manner, I do have a lot of skills in electronics, just not found out if there's something already ready to hook up to etc All advice is gratefully accepted |

Why not just buy the Nissan wiring harness? Probably a little costly, but you know it would work correctly.

I had terrible luck with the plug and play unit from Curt. After blowing out the running light circuit on 3 of them with my 07 Murano and doing warranty replacements I gave up and got the OEM Nissan one. 3 years with it and still working perfect, towing boats in the summer and sleds in the winter.
The Curt unit on my other vehicle is still going strong 3 years later, so I think it's just a design flaw on the specific one for the Murano. |
