After driving 2005 Maxima for almost eight years, have just recently purchased a 2012 AWD SL Murano. Love it. Actually went to buy one back in 2005, but was afraid of it being the first year and went with the Maxima instead. Loved the Maxima and would have bought another one, but was rear ended by someone driving 55 MPH and the Maxima was totalled.
I want to get a coat of wax on this ASAP. One issue, it's black. Love the black, but know what a bear it is to keep clean. Are there any recommendations on cleaning the black? Trying to avoid the swirl marks.

Welcome to the forum,
Try to wash it at self car wash and dry it with microfiber tower. Don't go thru the car wash machine, that is where all the scratches come from..

Turtle wax makes a wax just for black cars. It's called Black Box. It's kit that includes a pre wax, the wax, and a detailer with two applicator pads. The process is about 2 1/2 to 3 hour process if your really into cleaning your ride. I use on my Black 09 LE, and I'm very pleased. Hope this helps congrats on the MO

Thanks SamR! Glad you told me that one. The salesman mentioned the same thing, but I forgot the name of it! Will write it down this time. Yes, I'm into cleaning it. Love the black when it's clean. I just need the snow and rain to stop and get some warmer weather!

Hi and welcome. I had a 2005 Maxima SL and traded it for the 2012 Murano SL AWD. I really liked the Max, but was getting too old to get into and out of the Max.

Black is a great color when it's clean. When I had a black car, I found that keeping it clean, avoiding car washes, and when washing and waxing keeping it out of the direct sunlight and working with a cool surface kept the finish from streaking and showing fine scratches.
