Default QX1 touch-up paint

Hello,

I've recently purchased "Glacier Pearl Tri-Coat QX1" touch-up paint set (2 bottles: 1 base, 1 clear coat).

While using, I've noticed it is completely different color: its actually white while my car is 'off-white'. Drying made no difference. The code on the car is QX1.

Has anybody else noticed this? thanks

YES! I noticed the exact same problem - the white doesn't match at all. The paint is less than 2 months old, and does not look good when applied. And yes, it is the actual Nissan touch-up paint.

Well, today's automotive paint supply stores that you find in many towns often have the ability to scan a painted part of your vehicle and provide you with a paint match that is on the money. Usually, there is no charge to do this. In the past, I have used this service to get paint for older, faded vehicles but in your case this would be a viable option also.

You are getting the paint code directly off of the vehicle correct?

Obviously the pearl white is a two step paint process (touch up). However, even then I too have found it to match poorly. I used my Acura white as a base coat and that was closer....

Anyone ever found a good silver that matches the 20 inch LE wheels?

Some lawn mowing service scunjed my wife's wheel while at work...

While not needing it now, such info would be real nice to have at hand.

I would love to find a silver paint to match the wheels. I have a few touch ups especially around the center cap that need to be done. And wheel refurbishing is not cheap

There was a thread on this a long time ago. There is in fact a paint color that matches our LE wheels. Try the search function and see if it pops up. I'm guessing this was in late 09.

Thanks Orzel (Now, can you find some for my stock 07 GS350 Lexi wheels....)

Sorry for the off topic posts....

Cheers

LOL, that's the one thing I dislike about our 2010 GS, the wheels are 1) ugly, and 2) have no redeeming qualities. Our 06 GS had nicer wheels! If The Redhead wasn't in the process of redecorating the home, I might have had the $ to spring for some better looking wheels...well that and some hard to get ammo!
