Well, the stories are true - dealers are discounting these cars deeply as (from the 'have you seen one yet' thread, you can see they are not exactly flying off the lot. I was told by my dealer (good guys, Pine Belt Nissan of Keyport, NJ) that this was only the second they had ever sold.
Figured I would post a quick picture, and take any requests, as I don't see anyone else who has been crazy enough to go out and buy one so as to post detailed photos. High points: Handles like a dream - best comparison is the Lexus RX or the Infiniti FX for ride quality, and the handling feels more like a 3000 lb car than the 4300 it actually is - don't try for a rollover, but it will competently handle a two-lane on-ramp or curve leaving your average driver wondering how you are keeping your speed up. The 'lean' in cornering is pronounced when compared to a sports convertible, but significantly muted compared to what I would call a typical crossover's characteristics. Interior is excellent, fittings perfect, and the so called 'cowl shake' is nothing worse than any of the many convertibles I have had. Definitely a head turner - been asked if it was stock, available for sale, and if I worked for Nissan (all in 72 hours). Low points: CVT takes a moment to 'kick in' and realize that you want zoom zoom NOW, but then it provides everything (and quite a bit more) than you need for even aggressive driving. Don't race a corvette and expect to win just because it is a convertible, but if he is busy giving you the 'What is that?' look when the light turns green, you might win . No ability to lower (forget RAISE, not even LOWER) the top from outside - the fob will only do the windows and I will be looking for an aftermarket mod to fix this oversight. No USB charger (that I have found) on the dashboard, relegating Cell charging to the arm-rest storage.Reasons it is not an Infiniti: Manual Passenger seat, no adaptive cruise control, no rain sensing wipers, another 30-40 BHP, potential for a hard-top, standard (high quality) plastic dash - just enough wood accents for me, but an Infiniti would have more. Storage: I have thus far managed an 8 man tent, Fire Pit, Cooler, cooking gear, fake wood (even experienced campers cheat sometimes), and a weeks worth of toiletries, clothes, and any miscellaneous sundries for THREE people. Don't expect to go 'comfy camping' with a family of 4, unless the fourth person's name is Cooler Tentowski. Gas Mileage: Will report later - first tank was a whopping 12.4, but that included anything the dealer did, 35 minutes in <5mph traffic, and 30-40 minutes idling getting seats, radio, nav options, etc. arranged. (And what am I going to do, complain? My last car wasn't 12 on a good day!). So there it is - America hates the car because they think it can't handle and be fun like a convertible should (it can). Can't speed/brake/brake traffic laws egregiously (it can). Can't do more than a run to the food store for someone living alone (it can). And shockingly, America is wrong. (Is that a shocker, or what). Now, someone tell me (if you want more and better photos) where/how to post them as this attachment is small, to say the least. ![]()

Ok so we are talking about a new Cross Cabriolet. Very nice! Yeah we have quite a few on our lot but no one really is buying them. I personally don't see the point of them other than just for cruising but now that you told us how much you fit in there, its not too shabby!
Definately get some pics. I haven't seen one in sunlit copper. |

They gouged me a bit on the price, but that has to do with my lower credit due to some restructuring back in 08. I was charged 2k over invoice, which should have been more lik invoice flat. The back end financing was so tight they could not squeeze me there. They were honest, fair, and worth recommending over many other dealers. They hve several 2011s, and some 12s. If you go, tell them that I sent you and let me know. I worked with Tina Vasquez in Internet Sales and Walter Jacobson in floor sales.

I've seen a couple around here on the streets; a lot more than that sitting at the Dealer. Three of them sitting at Smithtown Nissan in Smithtown, NY to be exact. My wife & I were very interested in it when it first came out, then saw the $48k price tag. Hence we bought a 2010 Murano SL AWD for $34k. We still like the design of it, and we'll see how much prices drop around here. Not much is what I'm guessing.

Personally, I would have LOVED if this version of MO would have had the aero kit on it automatically with a convertible hard top. Rag top on this kind of crossover just doesn't do it for me.
I like the idea though. Nissan has been quite innovative lately.
