Nissan just announced the new GT-R will be available in Japan starting on December 6. The Nissan GT-R is a 2-door, 4-seat, twin-turbo, AWD, V-6 gem. Unfortunately, it is only available for sale in Japan.... for now.
The US-spec version is expected for the 2009 model year and will have a 460-horsepower, twin turbo, 3.8 liter V-6.
Here's the website for the US-spec version - 2009 Nissan GT-R
Hmmm... I wonder if it has a third-row seat? :headslap:

Sass-
With 460 horsepower on tap you are also going to need room for your balls. ;)

| Funny, I was drooling over a Skyline GTR I saw in Ottawa the other day. The new one is even more of a beast. |

Actually it has 480hp.
The astounding statistic is not the horsepower, but the fact that it pulled a 7:38 at Nurburgring, beating the times set by the Porsche 911 Turbo, the performance target for the GTR.
Apparently Nissan is doing a few more laps (thats an understatement) and going after the record set by the Porsche Carrera GT now (I think it is 7:32).
At $70k, it is a performance bargain and a legitimate competitor to the Z06 and just about anything else. Oh and despite the engine being a V6, it isn't related to the VQ. I believe it uses the VR designation. |

| Anything of that quality under $80K is a bargain IMO!!! When do they predict they might bring them stateside??? |

| Are those actual vents on the hood or just ornaments??? Where is there literature about this vehicle? |

June 2008.
As for "literature" on the vehicle, all the car rags have an article on the GT-R in their December issues, and Edmunds has a brief drive review. A full review will likely be first on the right hand drive Japanese model, then in Spring of next year for the left hand drive US models. |

| Can't wait to see what kind of gas mileage a 6cyl with 400 some horses gets!!! LOL!!! A Jap car that will finally give Europe a run for the money!!! This will be something to watch! And I was thinking about getting a Super 7 next year!!! LOL!!! May have to re-think that! I wasn't aware of this vehicle. |

| We bought a house 20 years and many dollars ago that is now 106 years old, a big Victorian that we completely redid. Behind the house and to our seclusion is a big two story barn that I also dropped a few bucks into. We added a double bay in the center of two others and can park 6 cars. We only have four presently. Space for more!!! LOL!!! |

Motor Trend did a review of the GT-R in it's Decenber issue. Check out the following link for the review - CLICK HERE
The GT-R is a technological marvel for Nissan. However, I was surprised to see how tame it looks from the outside, especially considering it's staggering performance numbers. It is like a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Take a look at the multi-function meter that is user-customizable. I'd love to see that technology find it's way into other Nissan products. I'd love to have engine indicators that read something other than "H" and "C" and "F" and "E".

| I just got off the phone with a dealer and guess how many GT-Rs are coming to the states??? Exactly 1100...period end of production!!! And the dealership has to have $45,000.00 of the right equipment to work on one!!! These are going to sell like the Forg Gts where people offer ridiculous prices to dealers for them and the highest bidder gets it!!! The Forg GT sold for $165K and people were paying $200K for them and they made 4500 or so of them!!! 1100??? Wouldn't want one now! My local dealership was to get one and I was just going to make an appointment to go in and see if I could get it on paper that they would commit to and they said they refused theirs as they weren't going to buy the $45K worth of equipment to sell one car!!! This is going to be a joke!!! I think I just went back to the Super 7!!! Gee, this would have been a great car to own but do you realize what it's going to be like to get parts for a few years down the road or even when new if there isn't a Nissan garage around!!! What a F@#KING WASTE!!!:3: |

GTR is going to be a collector item..........people will go crazy and pay huge money without thinking about service....trust me...I understand your frustration though....it is an amazing car and for the money you cannot get better performance...period! |

| Thought it would be a production car! What crap!!! They want it to compare and beat Porsches but won't produce them in quantity as the Porsches... Schm@cks!!! |
