Hi All. Did a search for fellow Murano owners & am I glad I found this one. Looks great and orderly. I hope most of the posts & replies are always continuously updated. I just bought a used Murano '03 SE AWD full options. color is Chardonnay & i'll post some pics shortly. Well, here's my problem. I bought these rear parking sensors and had wanted tp install them on my Peugeot 406 '00 (what was i thinking, right?) but along came the MO.. my question is does the MO have an in-built one? if not do you advice me to install it. I do have a good electrician who would fix it for me. I got the one that is made for the bumper installation but sincerely I don't have the Heart to "injure" the Murano. Any input / advice / suggestions are greatly welcomed and anticipated. thanks.

Homms'03Murano-
Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new MO.
Back-up sensors are not available from the factory, however, several members have installed after-market units on their MOs.
Check out this link - Rear Sensors - paying particular attention to MO Dale's contribution that begins on page 5. He has posted photos of each step of the installation.
Good luck.

Hello All. I wanna update you on how the installation of the sensors went and i am not sure if i'm doing it right, here (i started this thread, and want to update). Anyway, I put the sensors on the rear bumper (the 4 of them) and the MO looks sexy. However, I have a questions. when i engage the "R", the sensors pick up and keep beeping even with nothing behind me. the electrician says its supposed to be that way (doesnt make sense to me). it beeps faster as i approach objects (which is what makes sense to me). can anyone please shed more light on this. what did I do wrong, and how can i remedy the situation. thanks in advance.

The electrician is right.
Other wise, how would you know they are working?
Lets suppose we made them not beep when nothing was back there.
Then we get in, not knowing the unit is broken and proceed to back up.
No Beeps. Must be good......and then we run over the neighbors kid.
Geeze, the unit musta broke....
No, it is far better to have the unit beep. This establishes the "base" and then the beeps happen quicker as we approach the kid.
That's the way it is supposed to work.
Now, understand that only a fool would use just the beeps.
You should also be looking. Physically looking.
If the beeps increase and you don't see anything, for god's sake, stop. Get out and look if necessary.
The Beepers are an aide, not the final answer.
And always be aware that something back there can approach from the side.....and the beeps won't "see" it, until it is too late.
Sounds like you did a great job.

Thanks NJ for your response. BUT THE CONSTANT BEEPING IS PISSING ME OFF !!!..and i know i'm not going to be driving in reverse all day (lol), otherwise i'll going for some kind of world record. Well, u say he's right, he says he's right...2-1, it's over. BTW, my MO is similar in color to yours, it's actually a CHARDONAY color. i'll put up a pic as my avatar. I also recently added a front guard and nerf bars...makes the MO look wider and longer....i'll put up pics of that too. once again thanks. PS: like the neighbor's child analogy, with my neighbors doesnt sound like a bad idea.:D

I'd love to take credit for it, but it was Homer, not me, who posted the good explanation and sage advice.
