| Has anybody put a Gibson dual exhaust on their Mo? Auto Anything has it for $365 in stainless steel. I'm looking for a little more sound and maybe power? It seems to be one of the few exhausts designed specifically for the Mo. Any comments would be welcomed. |

Looks like for the next 4 days you can get another 10% off and free shipping on AutoAnything using coupon ENV07006.
You might want to look at the Remus exhaust. They actually dyno theirs. They'll send you a sound clip if you email them as well. See below.

| Various soundimg systems available !!! Don't get carried away with the sound as the performance is what counts and the sound draws attention !!! You want to hear some sound just put a good air intake system on and only half of the tubing !!! You'll swear your exhaust was under your hood !!! |

I'm not sure it's still for sale.
It's the prototype Gibson created.

Wouldn't the sound of an exhaust with a CVT tranny sound kind of awkward? It would seem like a continuous humming from start to stop. |

Yep. It will sound exactly like a V-6 powered boat. :p

| No it doesn't, well, I've got the Injen air intake which in itself gives off quite a sound deep and full. With a good exhaust should sound pretty sweet. When you go cruising by someone you won't be there long enough for them to hear that you aren't shifting! LOL!!! You won't feel as though you are chugging by either! |

What car are you talking about? The MO is a 245-horsepower, 2-ton, 4-door, automatic-transmission, pseudo-SUV. No matter what do-dads you hang on the intake or exhaust, it will never be a muscle-car nor a slalom racer.

...Your lack of experience with cars is rather obvious. Some how I doubt that you have ever sat behind a motor with great horsepower nor held the wheel of a car that you counted Gs going around curves. Further knowing how to make the most out of what you have may not be within your grasp either. No, my MO isn't a great performance car but it can be enjoyed just the same. I am sorry that you can't derive pleasure out of yours. I have taken mine pretty much to the limits of what can be done and I like the results. If you haven't done all the upgrades then maybe you just can't understand the ride. My MO has taken on a sports handle rather than the SUV it came with. No it doesn't have the capabilities of my '71 Lotus Super 7 Series IV nor my long gone '68 Lamborghini 12 cyl. It doesn't have the muscle of my also long gone '68 Camaro SuperStocker. Just the same it is fun to me for what I have invested in it.
When you drive by someone standing still or pass a car that you are going significantly faster than what I have said is quite true. However I enjoy listening to it just going 35 mph and being the only one there and that sir, is what matters. |

You should consider doing the Underdrive Pulley from Cosmo (http://www.cosmoracing.com). I did it to my Maxima and love the results. I had them change it out when I had the serpentine belt changed. It gives it a lot more get up and go in traffic. I'll have it done to the Murano when its time for the belts to be changed. |

I assume this is it:
NISSAN RACING PERFORMANCE UNDERDRIVE LIGHTWEIGHT PULLEY
T-6061 Aircraft Lightweight Billet Aluminum constructed & heat hardene reinforced.
For $56.00 it's a cheap upgrade! Is it anything more than a couple bolts to swap them out? At what miles should the belt be changed, if you know off hand? Does this effect warranty in any way...? |

I read around 50k to 60k miles is when you're supposed to change the belts. My Maxima had 56k miles on it, so I got it done last Wednesday.
Essentially you take the passenger tire off, unsnap the splash guard, and take off 1 bolt. The crank bolt is a difficult one to get off, so thats why I paid to have it done. I have heard if you have an air pneumatic impact wrench its easy. The pulley itself is the same as the Maxima (said so on the packaging). It will underdrive by about 20% the power steering, and require a new belt. I picked up the PS belt from a local shop for $14, serpentine for $20.
As far as warranty, it probably impacts your powertrain warranty. I'd assume if the power steering failed you'd be SOL in terms of warranty. I'm not really sure on that piece though...
We are thread hijacking here, my fault. Maybe start a new thread if you want to discuss? |

Have.Fun-
Your assumptions are wrong on so many levels, it does not warrant debate.

as a few others have done, i have put an 80 series flowmaster muffler on the murano mainly for a difference of sound. no performance gains have been recognized.
here are some videos
warm start and revs
cold start and revs |

| I must admit, I did it too. It sounds sportier even though there is no shifting, it is still a nice growl and you get a downshift sound with the AWD when the transfer case kicks out at around 10 mph. |

What??? The transfer case kicks out at 10 MPH??? I don't think so.
I think what you are referring to is the torque converter unlocking as you are coasting down to a stop.
