AWD same as Infinity? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Does the Murano have the same Attesa E-TS AWD system as the Infinity G35X? I have been looking at a G35X, but I don't think I'd want it if the AWD operated the same as the Murano's.

No.

Good

Anyone care to expand on that a little? How does the Attesa system work? Full-time, part-time, 50-50, 60-40, center diff, bails out after 12 mph, etc, etc?

Check out this link for an explanation of the ATTESA system:

njjoe,

Great information. Can you point me to something that describes the Murano's AWD system?

Thanks

J-

Spend $20 on the Nissan Murano Service Manual. It explains the the operation of the MO's AWD system, the rear clutch-pack, AWD logic, etc....

Give him a break. Everybody knows you guys know more about MOs than google does. ;)

njjoe,

I really just wanted to get a little info to verify that the G35 didn't use the same AWD system as the Murano and understand a few differences. An Infinity salesman supposedly checked on it and told me that they use the same AWD. Not knowing the reputation of the Atessa system, I would have passed on the G35 if he was correct. My impression from what I've recently read is that the Atessa AWD is a good system, and I'm back to considering the '08 G35X Sport.

Thanks.

Just further evidence that car salesmen get more and more useless all the time.

If I had a dollar for every piece of misinformation I've been fed by salesmen, I could buy a new MO.

What happened to the "good ol days" when salesmen were trained on the vehicles they sold so that they knew enough about them to answer questions... /correctly/ ... instead of just making stuff up?

Oi.

The G uses the ATTESA system as do my FX. This is completely different system. Muuuuuuch better than the Murano one. Very reliable and does the job well. Forget the salesman, if you like the Gx - go for that! It is a great vehicle with well proven AWD system.

I agree - the G uses a superior AWD system, if only because it has a RWD bias.
