I've mentioned this before in other threads, but you can get the Cosmo Racing Underdrive Crank Pulley for the Murano for $56.20 ($68.50 shipped). This is a VERY affordable performance enhancement.

It requires a single belt replacement (power steering) for $14, but you might as well replace your serpentine belt for $20 while you're at it.

The power steering belt to get is a Gates K040300 (30.75" or 780MM).

Here are the pictures of it, this one went on my 2004 Maxima. Its the same pulley as the one for the Murano.

to find out about warranty... if an issue. I doubt that the dealers garage will do it! They are very picky about touching anything aftermarket!!!

Exactly what difference do you feel that you get out of this? Does it create more torque? Torque, the enemy of our transmissions!!! LOL!!!

I wanted to post this pick and tell that guy that this was my boat!!! LOL!!!

The UDP will create 2 to 6 whp and 3 ft lbs of tq, but the manufacturer claims 5 whp from it from an eBay listing I saw. I personally didn't really notice the HP on the Maxima, but more of the ability to rev quicker. It also has increased engine braking, so you'll feel like you can stop quicker. I felt like I could get in/out of traffic a lot quicker, and I believe I should see some improvements to my MPG as well. I definitely notice the performance difference in daily driving.

The Altima guys did some testing of a similar UDP from Unorthodox Racing. See the results here:

..do that it will affect warranty!!! Hands off! ....? I have 40K miles left on my warranty and not sure that I want to mess with that! This makes sense for me to do but you know if there is a problem with the motor, they will blame this pulley!!! I have had similar experiences at the dealer over the years! Blame anything you can so it's not covered! They tried that when a headlight went out! Told me my fog lights weren't wired correctly. Then found out that the module that changes the current for the headlight was shot and replaced it under warranty. Then a week later there was condensation in my headlight and replaced that for a total of $800.00. My fog lights wiring was OK! I'll have to give this some thought !!! I want to check that site.

You could always keep the stock pulley and belt. Swap it back if you have to take it in... :)

If I have major problems with the engine it isn't getting towed all over town!!! LOL!!! I would think that this would take wear off the motor after reading that article!!! Besides, I' not much for fraud!!! Wife works for an insurance company, that ain't gonna happen!!! LOL!!!

As I've said, this only underdrives the power steering. I believe Unorthodox Racing sells a "lightweight" version that maintains a stock size (also available is a UDP). What that means is you keep all the belts and nothing else changes. I don't see it adversely impacting your powertrain that way. The UR pulley is a little more costly at around $200.
