If you use Y-split connectors, there is really no need to disconnect the battery unless you really feel too unsecure. To probe the wires, you'll need juice anyway. Finding the right wires behind the radio is easy if you have a 12-volt tester (needle). A multimeter is better but if you don't have one, a 12-volt tester cost $2. I never disconnected the battery unless it was absolutely necessary. There have been issues of the idle having to be relearned by the ECU after the battery had been disconnected.

Its a good idea to disconnect the Neg terminal from the battery when working on wiring.

I thought Motorola made a nissan harness for the T605 and HF modules? I was looking into this myself. What is the purpose of the harness you linked on your posting?

Thank you sim.Sim, did you check out the pic of the harness? cause the install manual just shows to unplug the original harness from the back of the cd/radio and plug one end of their harness to the radio and the other end to the original harness and a adapter to plug into the motorola kit looks verry simple, only it mention some kind of a ignation sensing wire.tac, that harness is for the motorola and parrot bluetooth hands free car kit,so that if a call is incomming or outgoing it mutes the car radio and utilise the front speakers of the morano to be specific. If you need more information go to this web site and lookup you specific vehicle for a harness, thats where i bought my harness from.

Lurlette, according to the instructions this kit looks plug & play. I remember from my own installation that there are 3 wires to hook to the HF harness. They are in the blue-red-black bundle on the left. One is for the mute signal and the 2 others are the speaker output (+ and -).

These 3 wires usually are not simple plugs because they usually have to adapt to different Bluetooth kits (Parrot, Motorola, ...)

Sorry, just saw this "HF Kit" harness connector on the box so it means that they actually designed this box specifically for the HF series from Motorola and that it is completely plug & play. You will simply have to get behind the radio. The procedure is simple:

1. Put the gearbox on Neutral
2. Remove the 4 screws on the head unit (to get to the side ones, you'll have to remove the side covers located on each side of the lower part of the center console). The 2 top screws are also hidden behin this small cover over the head unit.
3. Put a towel or something soft on the aluminum below the radio because this is where you'll be moving it to work behind and there are sharp metal edges under that could scratch the alu.
4. Disconnect the 2 connectors behind the radio and connect them to your new harness
5. Connect the harness connectors to the back of the radio
6. Connect the HF-800 harness to the "HF Kit" connector on your new harness
6. Test
7. Reinstall the head unit and enjoy!

I think its only fair for me to report back on my install, well, with your advise and explanation i got the confidence that i wanted and did the install myself yesterday,it went well and yes the Harness was kinda plug and play except for the ground and the other two undetached wires, but as i said i did it and that was my first attempt at this and it installed very easy and work without a hitch,i did the install with out disconnecting the battery lead and it still worked ok,so thanks Sim,next time you visit Toronto, drop me a PM and the beers on me.

Now i can drive and Talk without holding the handset, looks as though i am talking to my Mo LOL.

Hello. I've been reading the instructions on the handsfree setup. I have an 07 Murano S, No Bose unit. Will this procedure also work with this radio? Do you have the part numbers of what you purchased and where from (Installers.com??).

Thanks in advance
lurlette

When you guys removed the radio did it ask for the unlock code? Cause on some cars when the radio or the battery has been removed, the radio will not work unless you enter the unlock code
lurlette
No, i`av got a 2007 model and i did ot remove the battery, all i did was disconnect the radio from the back and it did not ask for any unlock code, just plug in and it worked flawlessly.
