Hello all...
I have an 04 LS that does not have TPMS.
There is an indicator light for TPMS on the dash, and I assume the firmware is there and just needs to be enabled. Is it possible to purchase the sensors and integrate it with the factory display screen and indicator light? |

| There is also a receiver and antenna required.... |

In order to conserve costs, Nissan uses the same instrument panel overlay for all models, regardless of options. The fact that the "Low Tire Pressure Warning" light is on the dash means nothing about your car's capabilities. There's also lights for the Intelligent Key, VDC, traction control, and AWD-Lock, regardless of whether or not your car is so equipped. It's just more cost-effective to build cars that way.
Is it possible to integrate a TPMS system to your MO so that it will utilize the existing dash light? Sure, anything is possible, but it will be significantly more expensive than simply installing an aftermarket unit.

I realize they use the same units... Most of the time manufacturers use the same firmware as well with certain functions disabled. Thats why I thought I might be able to easily add a "factory" TPMS to my model and enable the controlling firmware.
I dont really want an aftermarket display unless it's really inconspicuous. I havent even looked at aftermarket options, so I guess I'll browse through some.
Also, its not so much the low pressure warning indicator light as much as the display screen id like to integrate with... So it tells you the tire pressure when you push the unmaintained button.
Thanks for your help :) |

| No way to dop that without the receiver/antenna (and probably some wiring) |
