MP3 cd readable, just not playable - Click HERE for Original Thread
ralphtrent
Hi
I have an 07 Murano S with the factory radio. The site says that MP3 files are not compatible with this radio, but I put a disk in a, the radio read it as on long track, but not audio was heard. I understand that the radio can not read MP3 files, but why didn't I get a Check Disk message or some other error? Why did the radio act as if it understood, to a point, what the information on the CD was?

Thanks,
Ralph in Jersey

Couple of things, first what program are
you using to write your CD's? There are
several threads on the site on the mp3
recorders. The one thing that I can say
about what I have learned is make sure
that the music is in folders, the random
play work a lot faster. The second thing
that you most likely need to check is to
make sure your software "closes" the CD.
By that I mean that you can no longer
write any thing else to the CD.

Probably is you post your software there
is bound to be a couple of members that
might be able to help with specifics.

Otherwise do a search for mp3, maybe
you will find some clues there...

Good Luck.

So are you saying that all the murano's will play mp3 files? From what I gather, my radio does not support MP3. Are you saying something different?

Thanks,
Ralph

Ralph,

No, only the one's with the mp3 logo.
So yes you are correct yours will not read a MP3 CD since you only have an S version.
Sorry, I should have read you posting a little closer, but I had not had my coffee ;)

Below is posting where you can see the marking...

No problem. You would think the radio would throw an error message. I do not understand how it can read the cd but not play it. Almost like a software update would me the radio paly MP3 files.

Oh well.
