So Im driving back to work last Thursday after a wonderful lunch at Chipotle, and while sitting at a red light I got rearended.

The damage looks light. There is a little gash in the plastic bumper about half an inch long and a scuff on the bumper. Im hoping that is the extent of it. The collision was loud and she was going pretty fast so I am hoping there isnt any frame damage or anything like that. I saw her coming and was able to get a slight rolling start before she hit so hopefully that took some of the force out of the impact.

Since I saw her coming in the rearview mirror, I turned to see and took the impact with my back twisted and now it actually hurts pretty bad. I was hopin it would just go away but now Im thinkin I should probably go get it checked out.

Go find a good chiropractor. My husband was in a really bad accident several years back. The chiropractor was instrumental in helping him get back to normal...

Hope you feel better real soon!!

Definitely have it checked out. Soft tissue injuries may not produce itself until later and the early diagnoses can help reduce initial recovery time.
I would also have the car checked out too. It's not what you can see; but more what you can't see.
Glad to hear it was not too serious.
Good reaction on your part for moving up(knowing you had room); an inch move is an inch less impact force on your vehicle. If you moved 6 inches; the damage would have been 6 inches into your bumper.

I agree with Biker. Please have yourself and the bumper checked out. You'll probably be turning up bruises and pains for the next week. It also doesn't take much to crack the bumper frame so there may be some unseen damage. Take care of yourself first though.

I would definitely be looking for a good shark lawyer long before looking for a Chiropractor.

You need to have this documented. He will (should be) your best advocate.

Nah~ Tort law is set over 10k for lawsuit (depend state law)
If you are seriously injured go for it.
Or else not worth the time.

No fault should take care of all your bills.
They will pamper you and document your every move.

So I went to the doctor and he thinks its just some agravated muscle around my shoulder blade. I got a big bottle of anti-inflamitory pills for a week, then we'll go from there.

Still waiting to hear back from her insurance company to accept fault. Then I'll have car checked out.

Good news is car was checked out and only needs a new bumper. The frame and all the structural stuff checked out ok.

Bad news is my back has gotten significantly worse I now I'm on all kinds of meds.

Her insurance accepted fault so all bills are getting sent to them. Hopefully I'll feel better soon.

Prayers for your speedy recovery.

Back and neck injuries are among the worst.

Don't sign any release.

Your problems "could" end up being a life long thing.

I sincerely hope not.

I definitely will not sign anything anytime soon.

The insurance tried to get me to send them my $15 copay and $20 prescription bills and call it a day. I laughed and said I'd have to get back to them on that.

K;
Take your time and do anything you can do now in getting yourself treated so that it won't cause further problems many years from now.
Soft tissue scars can be problematic if not taken care of immediately. Also seek advice from your family doctor to set up a treatment program with the possible use of a physiotherapist and/or chiropractic care.
Good luck in your recovery and health.

On a positive note, I got my MO back and it looks perfect. The shop that handled the repairs were actually really nice, not shady, and finished car early.

Plus, I got a free car wash out of it, inside and out.
