Hey All,
I am new here but this site looks great.
I saw the other topic on car starters but looks like for newer model.
I have an 2003 murano and would like to install a car starter for it.
What is the best system for this car?
Is it possible and how hard is it. I am not sure of the security systems on this car but would really like to have one since it gets to -30celcius here int he winter.
thanks for all you help. |

I installed the 791XV into my gf's 03 Murano.
If you've never installed a remote start system before I honestly wouldnt even try it. But if you've installed car alarms/radio's it still may be difficult but not by much. |

| I had the Viper 591XV in my '03. I had it installed at a stereo shop. Even then, they had it for several hours beyond what they thought they would need. |

big builder,
You don't show your location but since you refer to -30 celcius must assume you are up here in the great white north.
I had Future Shop install a 'Nordic Start' on my 2003 - works like a charm. |

So I called Future Shop.
They will install a nordic start on Monday.
I will follow-up here to let you know how it went.
Thanks for the advice. |

| Python 571 XP from Circuit City. Works great, has two way remote to let you know when car starts and shuts off, and even can roll windows up and down. |

Im pretty sure you have to buy the extra module for the window controls... but I may be wrong.
Just to warn some of you: You may *NOT* want to have your windows automatically roll down via remote, cause if you leave your keys in your pocket and your at a place where its loud, you can accidently hit the button(s) to roll down your window without you knowing... |

It does require an extra module. I think the only charged me $60 more, which was worth it to me.
I have no problem with the windows rolling down because it requires you to push 2 buttons. Plus the remote will signal when you roll down the windows, start the car, or unlock/lock doors. So in reality, it is less likely to roll down the windows compared to oem remote setup that requires only one button held down. |
