Some questions about the Murano.. - Click HERE for Original Thread
bronxblaza117
I am very interested in buying a used murano. I currently own a 2006 Scion tC with about 13k miles on it.

Was just wondering starting what year was the Murano offered with the Intelligent key? and with what package?

Also have some dealer questions...
- I found a 04 murano with 50k miles on it for $14k, and my car for trade i think would be about the same or a little more. Do dealers do trades when they get no money out of the transaction life this one? Would it be better for me to sell my car to like a used car lot and then go buy the murano?

any feedback is welcomed

Assuming a purchase price of around $18k for a 2006 tC (sold as early as 2005), I'm not sure it would bring in $14k dealer trade in. It might get that much in a private sale though. Remember that dealer trades (or sales to a used car lot) are priced lower so they can turn the vehicle around at a profit. Yes dealers will do a straight up trade if they get the better deal (not in your best interest).

I believe the 05 was the first year with intelligent key.

Correct, although this is one of those options that, for some stupid reason, you have to have almost EVERYTHING else before adding on the intelligent key. So if you really want that feature, be looking for a Murano that is fully-loaded. If it has cloth seats, it certainly won't have intelligent key.

YEs the same thing is true for another desirable option, VDC.

I think he meant 14K plus his car, not 14K for his car.

I still read it as the other way, that he thinks he can do a 1 for 1 trade.

eric is right in the way he interpreted it. base price for tc is around $17k however i did get a lot of factory accessories. Foglights, rear lip spoiler, TYC led tail lights, iPod Head unit, Scion Security System. Also have Lo-Jack installed through Toyota.the final price i believe was $21K before taxes and fees.

I have a 2003 MO, loaded including navigation which has the "inteligent" key. I have the $100.00 bill for a new spare key and the $50.00 bill for programing (flashing it...total SCAM fee!!!) to prove it!!!

Was there a different kind of key issued in 2005???

are you sure of what is an "intelligent key"? its the key that allows one to open the murano with the key in your pocket and also turn the car on with the push of a button. you have this?

If it is a 2003, I think the guy is referring to the computer chip key, not the intelligent key.
