What the heck is Nissan thinking???
1100 of these cars are coming to the U.S. and the dealers have to have the proper $45K of equipment to work on it!!! My local dealer referred me to a larger dealership 30 miles away as they turned down getting one as they don't have whatever it takes to work on them. 1100 hundred??? They finally have a car that can blow away the Porches and they are going to keep them in such a limited supply??? The price is enough to keep the volume in some what of a check but they are well under comparable or equivalent sportsters so why are they limiting them? What is going to happen is a bidding war at every dealership that is getting one ! This is what happened years ago with the Viper, then the Ford GT, and now the GT-R!!! Why is Nissan F@#KING with us like this? I do not get it!!! |

One reason Nissan does this is to keep the vehicle exclusive. I believe most if not all of the 1100 US bound vehicles have already been preordered, so they are probably very hard to get in 2008. Keep in mind the GT-R was not designed to be a cash cow, but rather a technological Q-ship to show that Nissan is on par with the 911 Turbo. Being also an exceptionally advanced vehicle, a limited first year production may not be a idea so they can work the kinks out before increasing production in subsequent years. Nissan's hasn't exactly had an excellent track record with first year vehicle reliability as of late.
I'm sure the car will be available for many years, so if someone really wants one, they will get one. |

| I was specifically told that it was a one year deal. Also to try to get the other dealer to commit on paper to a price and that it was in fact sold to me. These are not pre-sold or at least that is the very strong impression I got! |

I have not heard of a one year only thing for the GT-R, so who knows.
I do know Nissan decided not to force dealers to sell at MSRP, which means they can mark up as much as they want. There will be some major fleecing going on, but hey, it will still be less than the $100,000 911 Turbo. |

| Dealers will take bids on them and the prices will fly just as with the Ford GT and the Viper when they came out. $125,000.00 is a more likely price and I'm sure those with the money to just spray away will pay it!!!:3: |
