I've been in the market for a new remote start/security unit for my MO....

Was looking at Viper 5900....
Looks like I'm going to be waiting for another two months to get my hands on this!!

Looks like they've improved the range, included a cabin temperature sensor that communicates with the remote, and came out with a THIN FORM FACTOR!!!

Debuts at the CES in early January. From what I've read the press release says it will be available at stores in Feburary...

Two more cold months.....

I think the coolest part is the 6 month battery life remote. I had the top of the line Viper, then Python remote start alarms in my last vehicle and I would be lucky if battery lasted a month. It was pretty annoying, but it was well worth it to have a quality alarm.

As a former alarm installer I'd be interested in how they go about using less wires and being easier to install. Should be interesting.

Thought I'd bump this up...

Looks like the Viper 5701 has hit the shelves...

I'm thinking about putting my economic stimulus check into one of these!

Any MO owners had one installed yet?

I would love to know a general price and what extra sensors were picked.

Also, does the new Xpress Key need a physical key anymore? I heard that they were doing away with that and you could get manufacturer specific plugins for the brain of the unit.

Let me know please! I'm in the 00-20 range by the IRS and should be getting it soon!

I forgot wether its the new Viper or the new Python remotes, but do you guys remember the old game Simon? You can actually play that game on there remotes! Pretty cool if you're bored sitting in a waiting room at the dentist or something
