I don't typically follow new cars/models when they are rolled out, so I don't know if this is normal or not.
That being said, it seems awfully strange that in a little over 2 weeks (January 4th), these are going to be for sale at dealerships and Nissan hasn't even announced official prices for it.
Also...when the 09 Murano hit the official Nissan site (nissausa.com), which I believe was on Nov. 14th or so, I requested a brochure that day. Over a month now and haven't seen anything come my way in the mail.
Is it me, or is the Jan. 4th announcment more of a marketing ploy and nobody will actually be able to get their hands on one of these until Spring at the earliest, or maybe Summer? |

| Could be that you can't get your hands on one until late spring... but they most certainly don't want to take way from existing MO sales... especially if the car is the same price. Its all about marketing baby! |

I think most dealers should be on the last of the leftover '07s. Nissan also left the rebate at $1,500, which seems pretty small for an '07 as we approach 2008, so I'm guessing supplies are already light.
I wonder if the lack of pricing (the Infiniti EX pricing came out a month before the on sale date) means that Nissan isn't sure whether to hold the line on prices (with a soft 2008 forecasted) or raise them given the still-strong sales of the old model. |

Pricing. That's the $64 question. With all the improvements to the interior, VDC standard, and a DOUBLE sunroof crammed down our throats it can't be anything but higher, much higher. I would say 2 to 4g higher depending on how you fit one out.
What do you think? |

That's true, though the double sunroof will be optional. The base LE should definitely be more than the base SE, given that leather is standard.
If you try to configure a 2007 Murano on Nissan's website, you'll get a mix of 2007 and 2009 options. The double sunroof has a $2K+ price tag, though it may be part of the mess-up that's causing those options to show in the first place.
On the other hand, the CUV segment is very competitive, and a lot of the improvements are simply necessary to stay up to par with the competition (i.e. the addition of Bluetooth). I don't see prices rising too high. |

True, however, don't you just hate however, when was the last time you got something free? There will be additions for anything they add as standard.
Which would you feel better about, paying a list price that is more competitive, or, seeing a higher list price and getting a "Deal?"
I don't think they had to deal on the old style, which was not old at all, but unique. Now that they have gone mainstream with the new design it is an either/or situation. I think they will have to deal more. |
