OBDII Codes & Interpretations - Click HERE for Original Thread
Homms'03Murano
Hi All. I don't know if the topic of OBD (on-board-diagnostics) codes has been "threaded" on these forums so I decided to start one. If it has then the more the better I think.

I had a friend (mechanic) Diagnose my MO and the thing spat out the following codes: P1031 & P1148. my friend didn't have access to the Nissan codes but i thanked him anyway. Now, i checked on the web and found out that the more frequent code (after doing the diagn. several times) was P1148 and means {CLOSED LOOP CONTROL (Bank 1)}. I don't know where/what it is and if it's possible for me to DYI. at least if I can't I'll be somehow in the know what a pro mechanic is doing/telling me. If anyone can help out here i'd be very appreciative.

I hope this thread carries on and proves to be helpful to other MO-ers. I'm sure we all don't like it when we see those blinking lights on our dashboards basically the MO is telling us, {I AIN'T FEELING TO HOT!!}.

Hope to hear from you-s soon.

thanks.

I don't want to steer you wrong, but the codes refer to the air/fuel sensor circuit. However, it could be the harness, programming, a simple setting, etc.

Njjoe Thanks a lot. Of course it'll help. At least, like i said, if i can't DYI or DMS (do-it-myself) i know what the pro will be doing.
all the best.

I am either blind or am having a bad day at work. My SES light is on and I bought a OBD2 from CDN Tire a while back, but I cannot find where to plug it in. I know that it is supposed to be close to the streering column , but I cannot see it. Any suggestion will be a big help.

Thanks, I need to look up more instead of down when I am under the steering wheel. Found it and pluged it in , it showed a 0456 code and indicated a very small leak (read loose gas cap).Reset and back on line.
