Toyota Venza - new crossover to compete with Murano - Click HERE for Original Thread

An interesting vehicle which seemingly overlaps with the Highlander, but Toyota probably knows what its doing.

Specs seem quite competitive with the Murano.

Wow that was fast, a clone of the '09 front end...

here is a good front pic of it:

2.7L 4 banger? That is a BIG 4 cyl.
May be all most people need......

Don't you just know that gives Ghosin Heartburn.

I will have to correct my prediction of lots of 09 Muranos downward.
A 5 pass Toyota is formidable competition.

It also makes you wonder how Toyota will price this vehicle. My guess is that it will be along the line of what a Highlander would cost, except with the advertising cache of a sportier and stylish alternative. Even the 07 Murano crept past $40k fully loaded - I hope the 09 isn't too expensive or else it will be up against other vehicles like the RX350 and Acura MDX.

I believe this will be more a competitor to the Infiniti EX. It is more a station wagon than crossover. Judging from the guys height, I think it will sit 6-8" lower than a crossover.

Murano's competition is growing. The market is getting more crowded. I believe this Toyota will sell well. It has the potential to take sales from the Murano.

I am worried about Murano's long term future as well - CVT! Once word gets out t the general public about its cost of repair we mays see people going away from the Murano....only time will tell.

The Murano is 3" taller.

ahhh. another foot E-brake!
never got used to it when I had the MO.

Looks like a cross between a Kluger (Highlander) rear and a Camry front. Makes you wonder who Toyota hope to sell this car to. Here in Australia the market is flooded with cars like the Murano now so Nissan are selling the base model (ST) with free satnav and reversing camera.

Looks like a gussed up Chrysler Pacifica to me... with a Sienna interior. As usual, Toyota make a ho-hum design, yet they will sells thousands b/c it's a "Toyota"...

YEP; another MO-wanabe:D
Nice job on the outside; it should be since they're just following what others have made already.
I hate the dash mounted shifter! Enough of them; it makes the dash look cheezy.
I'm sure that it will apeal to loyal Toyota followers since they don't have a vehicle that....oh yeah LOOKS like a MO! :2:

Bejeeeeeeeees is that thing ugly!
Is this where the near-future car design is headed?
I am quite saddened to see such ugly FISH-looking things on the road.
Nothing cool or sleek or nice about any of them, including the new Murano.
Just chunky, funky dollops of fish cakes.
Yuk.
hahaha

I like it.
And Vince Burlap likes it and he practically invented la la land.

OMG... its a Camry on steriods!

Kris is right; competition IS growing.....here's another one to fill the niche from Volvo http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/d...rticleId=118849

It looks to be a bit smaller than the MO but wow!

Have a look at the photos and a real close look at the interior.

Very nice... very! Lets see what it looks like in production.

The front end is overworked........but I like the whole thing......... Ford did good.

I was about to say that it looks like an illegitimate child of an Avalon - Pacifica affair
