Hmmmm.... Let's see the differences...
Horsepower is up from 240 @ 5,600 rpm to 265 @ 6,000 rpm.
Torque is up 4 lb-ft.
The two electric motor mounts have been replaced with vacuum-controlled mounts.
The alternator has been upgraded from 110 to 130 amps.
Overall length increases from 187.6 to 188.5".
Overall width shrinks from 74.8 to 74.1".
Headroom is down by about half an inch.
Vehicle-speed sensing power door locks are standard.
I was at the dealer today to schedule a radio replacement on the MO and they had no information on the 2009 MO. No literature, no flyers, no nothing. I took a walk through the back lot and saw several 2007 MOs, but no 2009 MOs.

Most people (not all) will be glad that Nissan finally has the speed sensing door locks.
A Very healthy jump in HP, not so much in Tq.
Good deal on the Alternator.
Looks like a loaded MO roared WELL past 40K.
And a well equipped SL could be had for 36.
A little higher than I thought, but I have to believe the weakening dollar had something to do with that.
But of course,if they never come out with the thing, that could affect their sales.............

BTW Thanks Jimmy and welcome to the board! |

They list the MPG the same for AWD and 2WD? uhh interesting..
I can see it now. Someone with an LE comes to the board and asks, "How do I get my Zune to work with the ipod connector?" hehe
The specs say the LE comes with an ipod interface, but not just a plain old AUX-in. |

| My local dealer gave me a Vehicle Detail sheet for an LE to arrive in March. It has port installed accesories (illiminated door, roof rail crossbars and splash guards) that I don't want. The total for these items is $595! Does port installed mean dealer installed. If it means dealer installed, I should be able to make an offer on the LE without the accesories since I would be purchasing before the car arrives to the dealer, correct? |

romagjack-
Sorry. "Port-installed" means just that; the items are installed at the port of entry. We have a member on this board whose job is to install those very same items on Nissans when they arrive off the boat.
It looks like you are stuck with the illuminated door, roof rail crossbars and splash guards. But I wouldn't fret too much, the splash guards are installed on almost every MO, the roof rail crossbars can be removed on sold on eBay to other members, and the illuminated doors sound.... illuminating. :D

The speed sensitive locks are quiet on the 09 Murano. Everyone will like it. They activate at about 10 miles per hour or so.
Another good thing, you can fold the windshiield wipers so you can clean your window on both sides. The drivers side wiper is long and the passenger side is short. |

At 40 grand for an LE, I might be more inclined to lean towards an automaker's premium brand, i.e. Infinti, Acura, Lincoln, etc. You usually are provided with free perks and a better service dept.
Maybe it's vanity or caring too much what other people think, but it's a funny feeling to me when you're driving a 40 grand car, but someone else bought a MO for 26 grand. It takes away some of the "eliteness" that I think 40 grand should afford you. =) And let's be honest, a lot of what Americans do and buy is influenced by the way we want to be perceived.
I really hate when there is such a large disparity between a model's base and top model. But I understand the MO is in position to compete with many other SUV's because of it's disparity. Hey, who wouldn't want the MO over a CRV or RAV4? They may get less features, but their luxurious perception of the MO makes them choose it.
..But if I really love the car, I'll see passed some of the other stuff. |

| yikes, if a fully loaded murano was 40 grand in canada, there would be no competition. but unfortunatly, a fully loaded murano in canada comes pretty close to 55 grand! |
