| I got to ride recently in an Audi A6 and a GMC Acadia. In both of them the backs of the seats were (or had an option to be) heated. Very nice for those of us with dicey backs. How about the Murano? |

| it's standard in the 09 Murano LE - it's in the specs PDF post you made. |

Unless I missed something, the question as to whether the backs of the seats are heated or not is not addressed in the specs. |

Hmm, my bad.
I've never sat in heated seats that didn't have both bottom and rear warm up (MB, BMW, VW, Acura) - I would assume Nissan would be the same way. |

Oh, most definitely it heats your back. Not the entire back, but it at least covers the bottom quarter or third of the back of the seat.
I can't imagine getting to work on a cold morning like today without those heaters. It might be my favorite Murano feature. |

Agreed - it is the lower back the gives a lot of us a problem. Appreciate the info - I am assuming that there is a least two settings? Lastly, does the passanger side do the same? Only ask this because I have become aware that on many vehicles only the passenger SEAT is heated. Something to do with side airbags. |

| Yeah, there is a high and a low setting for the seat heaters. As far as passenger side heating on the back of the seat... I guess I haven't really noticed. I think it is, but I've never specifically took note of it like I did on the driver's side. I'll check it out next time my wife is driving. |

What?!? I don't know of any motor vehicle in the US where only the passenger seat is heated.

I guess I did not make myself clear. I am trying to find out whether or not the SEAT BACK on the passenger side is heated similar to the driver's side. |

Sorry... my apologies. I should have read the whole thread before I jumped in.

Thanks - exactly what I wanted to know. I will be looking at an LE when they come out. Really like the fact that it will be IPod compatible. This will be our retirement/trip car and am researching frantically.:D Company car will go away at the end of the year (won't miss it) and we are looking for something comfortable with reasonable hauling space. I'm sure that I'll be pestering the members here with many questions. |

j2x-
Here's confirming evidence showing the MO with heated seatbacks. The diagram is from the 2005 Service Manual.

My '03 SL came with standard heated seats; both the bottom and up the back about 1/2 way. There is a high and low setting on both front seats. Works fabulously! |

Thanks guys - I really appriciate your taking the time. As a POI, from what I have been able to find out the MDX pax seat back is NOT heated. Again, somethng to do with their airbag set-up. I'm sure that to a lot of folks this is a small thing, however my wife (like a lot of women;) ) is cold all the time.
If I am going to spend around 40K for a car, I really have to pay attemtion to the details. FWIW, drove an Acadia last week and will have to say that I really liked it, but it is likely bigger then what we really need.
I'm a little apprehensive about the CVT, but having never driven one, will just have to wait and see - do like the looks though and the size is right.
Am actually scheduled to drive a 4Runner on Friday. There is something about the look of those that I really like, but may find that since it is a true SUV, that it will be a much rougher ride than we are prepared for.
Too much information?? |

| I've read on another forum that the RDX passenger seatback is not heated. Very odd how Acura has gone so cheap with the passenger seats. |
