| Looking through Nissan's recently released Murano website, I noticed they listed an "Aero Kit" under the exterior section of Genuine Nissan Accessories. Photo was not available, but they list a front bumper, side skirts and rear overlay. This made me take a closer look at a link that was posted a while back on another forum… http://stopaction.smugmug.com/gallery/4086042#238096849 What do you think? Can any Nissan parts people chime in on this one? Take care! |

If you look at the smugmug photos you can see that someone (most likely Nissan) attempted to disguise the MO by covering up the NISSAN, MURANO, and LE-AWD logos with duct-tape. Who were they trying to kid?

I guess this is at the other end of the spectrum from most "spy" photos I've ever seen. The cars are usually so layered with padding, sheet plastic and duct tape, that it's refreshing to see something different. Taping over the emblems can now considered "Lite Disguise". Maybe it would have not been noticed if they just really had put the Subaru emblem on the Mo.
Mentioning emblems reminds me of something funny that my daughter said last week. We're looking to buy a new Murano LE after enduring an 18 year span of various Chrysler minivans. My 16 year-old daughter just got her license and has been more and more "aware" of whats out there that she could be driving. I was bringing her home from school the other day when out-of-the-blue she mentioned… "I didn't know that John Deere made cars". I asked her where she got that idea and she pointed to the Impala emblem on the car in front of us. I laughed for the next two blocks.
Take care! |

I too endured 18 years of Dodge mini vans, before we got our Mo. My daughter almost cried when I sold "Sally" and still speaks fondly of it, as she sits in her 2003 Honde SI. |

My Chrysler Mini van was so much more reliable than the Murano, it is not worth discussing.
It wasn't even close.

I know what you mean. I just barely used any of the extended warranties that I took out on the last two Chrysler minivans that I've owned. They've been pretty much trouble free without being babied in any way. I was seriously considering the Pacifica, but it seemed too close to what I've been sitting in for the last 18 years, and besides, I'm really tired of that 3rd row seat. Sure glad the new Murano didn't follow the CX9 route. I may be getting a rude awakening, but I hope not. Neeedless to say, I will follow tradition and purchase an extended warranty. Take care!

| I don't much care for that body kit. It looks overwrought and busy. It just doesn't flow well with the rest of the vehicle IMO. |

| I just left my dealer and they have a black LE they are going to put the Nissan kit on. They are going to call me when its finished so I can get a look. I will take photos and post here from every angle. It might be different from the one posted on that link. |

I too think that the kit detracts from the overall new look. The front looks too much with the kit; it looks good as is. The rear is not too bad from what I can see. The wheel-well looks very large for some reason or the wheels look really small for the opening. Looks kind of out of proportion.

I'm pretty sure that body kit has nothing to do with that. Those are 20 in. wheels.. a standard LE with a different bumper.
The new MO has circular wheel openings compared to the more squared openings of the previous MO. |

| I am headed to the Washington DC autoshow this Sunday (27 Jan). The 09 Murano is supposed to be on display. I will take some shots of the Murano and the GTR and post them here. They may show a Murano with a factory kit. If so, I will post those pics as well. |

I like most of it. The sides look just like the 350Z Nismo sides which is good. Don't love the front fascia. Anything other than stock is always good tho. |
