Has anyone seen these yet on the new Murano?

Illuminated kick plates Illuminated kick plates
Mounted on door sills
Murano name illuminates elegantly
Distinguished and refined look
$280

Seems like a pretty swanky option that many of them will come with. Looking around online I found a few people talking about this on other forums but nobody really said anything about seeing them on the new MO.

Here is a pic from Japan on what it could look like on the Skyline. http://www.japanparts.com/images/Im...?base=1&no=5761

whats your 2 cents?

My two cents? The illuminated doorsills are not worth the $280. They look nice, but are just not worth it.

With all the bundled option packages, why is this one a stand-alone? They simply should have made it standard equipment on the LE.

For me they are worth it. I'm a bit fanatical about car care/maintenance and I'm hoping the illuminated scuff plates will make passengers, especially my female friends who wear high heels/boots, more aware of the placement of the doorsill and less likely to "scrape" it upon entering/exiting the vehicle. That, and slamming the car door, are two of my pet peeves. :p

I wonder if the illuminated kick plates have a plug in that location where you can just plug in the electrical connection and replace the screws so you don't have to take it to the dealer to get installed.

3.5-

Being that these are port-installed accessories I would think all SL and LE MOs are pre-wired for the illuminated sill plates.

That is what I thought, I just wanted to hear what someone else thought about it. I bought the bug deflector for the front today ($79) and installed it. I will post a pic tomorrow. Cold Air Intake will be in next week and the custom exhaust the following week. I am going all out:)

My illuminated kick plates will be in on Friday or Monday. I will post pics. I got them from a friend who works at a local dealer for $175 (all four). mynissanparts.com has them for about the same price and they have one set in stock if anyone is interested.

I got the cargo mat which is a must. The cargo mat is a rubber material and it fits like a glove. There are slots built in for the tow hooks and the rear flips up so you can open the cargo cover (well thought out Nissan)

My Injen Intake comes in on Friday. I will post pics after install.

Tow hooks?!? Cargo tie downs, maybe. But certainly not tow hooks.

My error :)

Cargo tie downs is correct..

I found two sites that also make nurf bars and the bull bar in the front (what ever you call it).

Did you mean Cargo Area Protector, which is rubber? Cargo Mat is also an option, and that thing is made out of nylon. Sound tarp-like.

Mine is coming with the Cargo Area Protector, and I hope it is the thing you're describing.

To '3.5 Lover' - Could you tell me if it was easy to install the bug deflector? Would I need to drill any holes? What was the installation like? Or would I be better off recruiting my local Nissan dealer to do the install?

The first I thing I did was order those All-Season Rubber mats for my 09. We still have 2 month of winter ahead of us where I live, and I LOVE those rubber mats vs. carpeted ones. Highly recommended...

These are nice, but they cover them illuminated kick plates. :) Albeit partially...

the bug deflector is easy to install. All you need is a cross tip screwdriver. The install is the same as with the 07 and below. Takes about 15 minutes to do and it looks a lot better from the front.

I will post a pic.

I am going to pick up the illuminated kick plates now. The dealer just called. I pulled up the factory ones and I don't see any plugs or wires. I wonder where the plugin location is.
If I have to cut some wires those illumated plates will stay at the dealer.

A pic will definitely be appreciated. I did not have the bug deflector on my 03, but in retrospect, I definitely feel I should have. If all that's required is a screwdriver, I think I can handle that...

The illuminated kick plates... Mine are Port-Installed. I didn't want them, but didn't mind them either. This was the only configuration with NAV that was available at the time - my dealer didn't have an LE with NAV and had to search for what else was available in the area. Since I got such a good deal on my trade-in, I didn't even question it, although I could have held out for one without the kick plates or crossbars...

I am, too, curious to know how the electrical connection is made. I doubt they're battery-operated...
