| Stay far away from anything OBX makes. Back in my tuner days (1st Gen Subaru Impreza) this brand and the other thousands that popped up during the 'fast and furious' craze manufactured absolute junk. You can tell these are pure crap by looking at the welds. Listen, I would not put any performance item on the Murano other than NISMO...and maybe a well-respected company like HKS, Greddy, AEM. |

| I read your post on the OBX reputation and I saw one of their lattest Headers in an Celica GT and it look nice. I wondered in and purchased the Altima 3.5 headers and I modified them to be installed in my Murano. The only thing that I modified was the conecting pipe to the resonator . Since the original Y in the Murano is Flattened because of the cross member I decided to do an S type of the same tipe of tubing and the clearance to the ground was not affected. Only the bracket that the muffler mount is. The original bracket is from the rear to the front and mine is backwards from the front to the rear, you will see the photos. It took me 5 hours to unistall the manifolds and all the JUNK that you need to take off and to install the headers. Just a little modification to the harness of the Bank 1, 1 because the header point is lower than the manifold point but it was only about 2 inch difference. I just re-routed the connector. The front sensor did not had any problem. |

Anxious to see the pictures. You get any Check Engine or Service Engine Soon lights?
You see to be the most modified member here... |

Yes, the light came up next day I installed the headers, Codes 1273 and 1283. This is because of the HIGH flow on the tubes.
I already spoke with a friend that had the same problem in a Altima 3.5 and he got the Sensor simulators that will be installed in the 2 lower sensors and will eliminate the light. I am waiting for the quote for purchasing them.
Anyway, even with the light on It is performing Awsome....
I'll keep in touch.... |

Raul-
Nice pics. :4: Too bad the damn engine compartment is so damn cluttered. It would have been nice to have the headers on display when you lift the hood.
It looks like your MO is at the top of the pack as far as engine modifications go. :29:
Do you have any plans to have the car dyno'd?

People:
After much research I got to this page:
http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Tuto...With_Test_Pipes
And with $7.00 in parts I was able to resolve the CEL light because of the install of the headers.
It took me about 15 minutes to drill the part and relocate the O2 with the spacers. The light has NOT come back up.
Tomorrow I have a 250 miles trip and I will let you know the results.
Anyway, I am in conversations with a performance company in the States and they are asking me a lot of question of the modifications that I did to the Altima Header to see if they produce headers for the Murano's... WOHOOOO!!! So as soon as I have something from them I will post the info so whoever is interested can do it....
I love the new performance and sound of my MO now.... |
