A/C Problem - Click HERE for Original Thread

My A/C only blows hot air unless I set the temperature to 60 or 61 degrees. Anything above that and the air coming out is hot. When I use the AUTO setting at 60 it blows cold air, but only at my feet. The outside temperature is 77degrees. Has this thing lost it's brains or something?

Any answers on this? I have the same problem. I have an 07 Murano. When the climate control (Auto) is set on anything above 61 , the car heats up terribly, gets unbearable and have to lower the temperature to around 61. I guess this is the same problem without the Auto feature but the a/c is on.

Took my '05 Murano into the Nissan service drive on 3/21/08. The service department had to order parts for my HVAC because the A/C would not blow air directly on my face, but would get stuck in bi-level mode and froze my feet! It's not a terrible issue because I live in the desert Southwest, but it's annoying. Titans have a similar issue. Make sure that the dealer orders parts before you take it in for service.

Understandable, I don't think the dealer will order any parts until they have a look at the car.

The above cases sound like either a problem with the interior temp sensor (located near keyswitch), ambient sunload sensor (top of dash near windshield), or the AC amp (which is located behind the switches).

Allright Everyone with an '03-'05 Murano! Tell me if I'm crazy, but crank the A/C down to 60F and then change the Mode to face. Reach under the dash and see if there is any air coming out of the vents. Dealer replaced the blend door and I'm still getting air down there! Is that supposed to happen?

Im back with updates for those interested. Took my Mo to the dealer for the A/C problem. They diagnosed it to be a problem with the A/C Amplifier Controller. Part was ordered from Nissan and replaced. All's well now. Set the Climate control to 75F and forget it.

Oh I just got lucky. Or maybe it was because it was a common problem on the Maxima forums I used to read. ;)

I'm having the same problem at 57K.

Ash - what was the cost for the repair?

I believe that I have the same problem on my '03. When not on auto, I get pure heat on anything higher than 18 degrees, whether A/C is on or just the vent. When on coolest setting it is full cool or outside air.

The auto does not work. It doesn't rest anywhere near the chosen temp it seems, and I like to have control which vent it uses.

Another funny recent problem is that a few times while on manual, it has changed vent and actually cycled through a few as if on auto (it definitely wasn't!).

Question: What is the easiest way to get to the ac amp? I removed the black covers under the control console but I don't want to just start unscrewing the whole unit without knowing where I am going.

Thanks
