Lets see how this works.
But I don't think this is "it".
Certainly not like the other boards I am on.
I see no reason for people to use this......

| I like separating the generations. Many of the other auto fourums I visit does this and it helps finding information for our specific vehicle. I am sure this will be used. Hope you keep it. Thanks. |

I agree with Homer.
The current forum has 36 user-accessable sections (Problems, Detailing, Performance, etc.) which makes it relatively easy to categorize posts. Having just a single section for all of the 2nd-gen posts will prove cumbersome over time as the number of threads grow.
Having two separate forums is also not the answer because there is a wealth of knowledge here that is relevant to the 2nd-gen MOs.
I suggest adding two branches to each major section - the current material remains as is, under the first branch, and a second branch is added for 2nd-gen MOs. When you select the "Problems" section you then have the option of selecting 1st or 2nd-gen. That requires some additional work on ADMIN's part, but will make this a more useful and informative forum for 2nd-gen drivers.

I don't really have an opinion on this because it makes no difference to me. When I log in, I click on "home", and then click on "new posts" which brings up everything, first and second generation. I think the search function will also do its thing across both forums. So I agree with Homer. Let's wait and see how this will work. |
