After reading many posts I bought the tv2go box for my 07 MO. Reading through the installation instructions, it has connections for reverse lights and hand-brake. Where do I connect these and what is the hand-brake for?

| You will need the Service Manual to pin point where those connections need to be made. The Hand Brake connection (otherwise known as parking brake connection), is there to "sense" when the hand brake is off to cut out the video from appearing on the screen. It is supposed to prevent people from watching DVD while car is moving but many people just hard wire it to bypass the lock. Off course doing so (watching DVD while driving) is both illegal and unsafe. |

The reverse wire is only necessary if you are using an after market reverse camera. If you are not connecting aftermarket reverse camera then you can wire that cable to a some sort of switch and use it as an extra video input.
Like the above post said, the handbrake signal is to prevent video while driving. If you want to bypass it just connect it to any ground. I connected mine this way, but have not watched video while driving. To tell you the truth, I havent even watched video at all other than to make sure it worked.
I had to install it that way because I use the TV2GO for my navigation to display on the screen which needs to be displayed while in motion, other wise there would be much point in having it.
I dont recommend watching video while driving not only because obviously it is extremely dangerous, but it is a hefty ticket. |
