is there any way to use 09's bluetooth wireless phone tech on my 05's?

I think it is safe to assume that the Bluetooth circuitry is integrated into the radio head-unit. That would make it virtually impossible to install it into a 1st gen MO.
I don't know this for a fact, but it sounds logical. Maybe one of our 2009 owners can check the service manual for confirmation.

Well, once I've got all the components for my carputer project, I anticipate that it will have most of the functionality of the 09's bluetooth calling. By making the computer bluetooth active, tying into the speakers, and using a special software package , I should be able to send and receive calls handsfree over bluetooth.
I'm a long way from even installation, let alone messing around with it all, as various projects that I need to do in my house have chopped my car budget for awhile. |
