Hello there,
I just walked out of the Nissan of Reno service department feeling like I need a shower. I took my Mo in for 30K service and only wanted the schedule one 30k service, not the 750 dollar service that they automatically try to "sell" you. I had checked with a couple of guys that thought that that service was overkill at 30K miles.
I told the service advisor I only wanted the schedule one, but if they saw any problems, to please talk to me and I would be happy to discuss any further work that might be needed. After the car sat for 70 minutes (punishment for not going deluxe?) they finally took it back and "worked" on it for 30 minutes, which cost me about 150 dollars. The part I am really bugged about is on the 27 point inspection, they wrote "vehicle due for complete 30k svc." and marked that coolant and 2 differentials due for service. I followed the manual and got the 30K service that it recommends, so why write that on the inspection? Why didn't they come talk to me about the other items so I could have them take care of it at the time? Needless to say, I want to find another reputable place to take my Mo and not get ripped off. I would appreciate any recommendation in the Reno/Sparks/ Carson City area as I want to avoid using them in the future. They have ruined my trust in them, especially since they seem more interested in selling service and tires than actually doing the right thing.

I would try Carson Jeep/Nissan or Devine Automotive at Longley & Peckham in Reno. The owners, Tadd & Trevor used to be w/ Compact Car Repair and they work on most import cars/trucks. They are quite fair with their pricing and in my experience, very trustworthy.
