Check my pic in the members photo section, very recent.
However, due to ongoing and apparently unfixable problems the dealer I bought the Murano from has taken it back and refunded every cent I paid. In ten working days, it was in the shop 6 times. Once for a new windshield, which had to be replaced again because it was defective (optically blurred). The problems were:
Transmission/brake interlock would not release. after 3 visits, they found a defective part.
Engine stumbled and coughed (for lack of a better description). Computer grounding problem I was told. was not related to cold or gas quality.
Brake pedal would go to the floor without any warning, vehicle would stop if enough pressure was applied. Never able to fix.
Factory Sirius radio would not function, Nissan said it was a Sirius issue, Sirius said it was a Nissan issue. Minor problem compared to the others.
I cannot say the dealer didn't make a effort, they did and I was treated very well. But enough was enough. I believe the problems were related to the Murano spending the first three years of it's life in Phoenix. Heat can be harder on a vehicle than cold and in this case, I believe it was the issue. On the CarFax report they did report "body electrical" issues, but I didn't expect any of this.
We still own two other Nissans and i wouldn't hesitate to buy another, but I might stick with new or a local car. Also only take carfax as a indication, it really doesn't give you the entire story. Oh, the dealer in Phoenix refused to share any of the service history.
Now have a C 240 4-Matic with a long term 100% warranty. |

Good.
You did the right thing.
Life is too short to put up with a lemon.
I think you will have mixed emotions with your MB.
1- I think you will enjoy driving it.
2- I think you will be happy that you got the warranty.
Good luck in the future.

| I agree with Kris, not all are. Ones off a lot or most dealers are, but if you know the real history (not Carfax) you have a better chance. When the original dealer wouldn't say anything, that sort of told me there were previous issues. |

This is the reason why I am going to buy my leased FX - I know the history!

Understand Kris and I apologize but I do think that in general, mine was an accurate statement. And, certainly in a "crap-shoot", there are winners and losers not just losers :D .

Here is a interesting twist on the whole deal. last night I reran the Carfax report on the vehicle. It didn't show any of the sale, service or return history here in Mn yet. But it did show additional details of the service work that was done in Phoenix, like the electrical system analysis, radio being replaced and that all happened right before it was taken back by the lease company, cleaned up and auctioned. That was not on the Carfax report I ran prior to buying it or on the report I got from the dealer (not Carfax, someing else).
Hummm, interesting eh? |
