Ok... for the SECOND time, my 2006 Murano SL has unlocked itself and rolled down the windows... in the rain.
This morning, I go outside to a car that is unlocked, front windows rolled down, and soaked...for the SECOND TIME. And this time, someone was in the car and stole my iPod. I really don't keep much in my car, but my iPod is the single, easily take-able thing in it.
The first time I was willing to write it off as the fob in my pocked getting accidently pressed while I was inside, but TWICE? and BOTH TIMES when its raining?
That to me is much much more than just a coincidence. If it happened more than just twice, or if it happened when the sun was shinning, I'd be more convinced of some type of people + fob issue.
So, my mission, my goal, is to do one of four things:
1. reprogram the car so that it no longer is capable of rolling down the windows, except from inside the car, or
if on the off chance this is really a fob issue,
2. reprogram the car so that the fob no longer can unlock and roll the windows down, or
2. reprogram the car so that the fob can ONLY unlock the car, but NOT roll the windows down, or
3. Fix the fob so that it no longer can trigger the unlock/down window command at all.
Having the car unlock itself is a bad thing, but having it unlock and roll down the windows is worse. In this case, my car would have been unlocked this morning, but it would be DRY and I'd still have my iPod.
I realize this is kind of a long shot, but it's a computer.. and computers are programed, and can be re-programed as well.
I'm hoping and praying someone will come up with a solution for me!
Thanks ever so much for your help. |

jltnol-
A few members have complained about their front windows mysteriously opening on their own. When told it is a designed-in feature they all wanted it disabled. Unfortunately no one has been successful in having Nissan disable the feature.
Your best bet is to be careful where you keep the fob, especially when it is raining. If you don't press and hold the UNLOCK button, the windows will not roll down.

It might not be the key fob.
A long time ago, I had a problem similar to this.
Anyway the culprit can be the door harness IIRC.
anyway check out TSB 03033
This is the title
Service Bulletin Num : 03033
Date of Bulletin: JUN 24, 2003
View Document
Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Summary: DOORS LOCK/UNLOCK AND/OR FRONT WINDOWS ROLL DOWN INTERMITTENTLY, ALARM SOUNDS
and again, IIRC the fix was to replace a wiring harness........
Don't know if they updated this TSB for new models....
I hate these old problems resurfacing......my head hurts from trying to get my rememberer to work......
