I have a May 2007 Murano with 25K mileage and have found that around all of the door windows I have rust appearing on the black painted surround. It's going into the dealership today to be assessed and I am sure (hope) it will be covered under the paintwork warranty, but I would be interested to know if any other Murano owners have had this problem too on a car that is less than a year old. I am very suprised that a $60,000 (£30k in UK) car is having this kind of problem with rust.

Welcome to the forum.
That is very odd, because I always thought the "window surrounds" were some type of thick paint or vinyl overlay. If you look at the inside of the window frame you can see the edge of the black material and it appears to be pretty thick.
Are the rusted areas scratched or nicked in any way?

I will try and get pics.
The rust is coming along the edges at multiple points and on different doors. It almost seems that there is some sort of paint thinning at the edges. No evidence of stone chips or other damage. Very strange.
