| I hope someone can answer a question. I have a 2006 S with the non Bose system, and I want to add tweeters in the dash. I've gotten the vent covers off and found the tweeter wires (thanks to all who provided info on this topic). The tweeters I want to install are Infiniti 1021T, based on the specs and my previous good experience with Infiniti speakers. These tweeters are 2 ohm impedance. I understand that everything on the non Bose system is 4 ohm. Will the impedance cause any problems? Crutchfiled says that it will not -- they explain that Infiniti says their 2 ohm speakers are compatible with any factory or aftermarket unit, and that the 2 ohm does not include additional impedance provided by the wiring, etc. They also say that there must be a crossover somewhere between the head unit and the front door speakers to send the high frequencies to the tweeter. Can anyone help? Thanks. |

No expert on the Ohms, but the tweeter wires are tapped off the wires to the door speakers which mean they are parallel. There is no crossover between the two. The OEM tweeter has a capacitor (bass blocker) build in. You can by a bass blocker and wire in-line (+) for cheap.
Good Luck
