Hey Guys
I am loving my 2006 Mo and always thinking of add on's
Do you think this will fit in the Mo to replace the current sound system?

I read about the guy who put in the full size pioneer, I am not sure why all the work! did I miss something?
I am thinking any 6.5" LCD system will fit "this one is a 7", it is a little too big by less than 1/2 and inch"
I am not thinking of getting this unit, I am thinking of getting a JVC EXAD KW-AVX706 which is a 6.5" screen. "I don't think it is avilable in the US"
Any input on the issue?:confused: :confused: |

Don't worry guy, it simply does not fit.
The Mo Bose is 1 cm too short.
That is whay it was such a big job to put in the Pioneer!!!!!! |

Were you thinking of taking out the Bose HU and putting this one in place or thinking of replacing the factory display above the console?
FYI-the Bose HU is actually in behind a whole circuit panel that is directly behind the console control center. You can't just "pull out" the HU and install an aftermarket HU. What you see on the outside of the center console of the Bose HU is just a "facing".
Here's a photo of what the back of the center control panel looks like; (we'll thank "jaak" for posting us this image). The long black horizontal slit is the CD slot and lower one is the doorway for the tape deck. |

Yes, I was planng on simply planing on taking out the Bose HU and putting that unit in its place!!

But now that you have mensioned changing the factory display on top, Can it be don?
All my display and countrol panel is there, will they still work if I use an after market unit?:rolleyes: |

There are some folks that have upgraded; you can do a search in the audio section of the forum. Here's a pic posted by simplesb and they have done.
I've just kept the Bose systems HU and upgraded everything else from there. The actual HU is a decent unit and is made by Clarion. Good signal is provided by the HU. |

Is the base HU (non Bose) the same as the Bose HU except no tape deck?
I'm wondering if they just upgraded with the Bose speakers and amp and used the same HU?
Are the factory speakers 2 or 4ohm? |

The HU's are not the same from the Bose system to the Non-Bose system; but are however both made by Clarion.
The Bose system comes with 2 ohms speakers; and from what I remember reading the Non-Bose system speakers are 4 ohms. |

Ok, well that's not bad news. The 4 ohms will make it easier to upgrade and Clarion is decent.
Would you know if the stock HU will allow me to add a subwoofer and an Ipod? |

One thing that I noticed is that you are from Saudi Arabia. If that is the case, your Mo may have a different stereo setup than the US, similar to the Australian version. If your radio/console looks like this (see below) versus the one showing the pioneer setup posted by BikerJohn, than you may be okay to adding a double din radio as you please.

Thanks a lot man,
But my set up looks exactlly like the US :(
I wonder if there is anything I can do about that orang screen? it does not have nav or anything, just a dispaly. |
