What software do people generally use with good results for querying or monitoring the OBD port? I'm looking for people who do dyno type stuff. What I'm really interested in is, how fast can the information be retrieved? I'm building a HUD right now for my '04 and I haven't solved this problem yet. How do I get the data from the OBD into my HUD fast enough that it's useful (needs to be at least 4 times a second minimum).
I've played with a couple of Linux packages to some success, but they are not well maintained and the one I got to work the best couldn't retrieve data very quickly. I'm hoping there is a way to get the data out more quickly.
Any observations would be appreciated. |
