As I become more familiar with the ins and outs of 09 LE w/Nav cockpit management I'm starting to come up with a list of features I'd like to see the Nissan engineers make available in future software upgrades. I've decided to document them here on this forum and suggest to the moderators that we establish this as a perpetual thread akin to the pricing thread.
Here's my first one: I'd like to be able to flip my map mode between a location map w/traffic zoomed out to say 100 miles horizonatally and a current route map.
For example, yesterday I was driving around Boston heading into New Hampshire and needed to keep an eye on traffic on US 3 North (Everett Tpk) and I93 North -- essentially equal alternatives for getting north of Manchester NH.
I've found like to set up my route maps with a low-angle birds-eye view, and when you zoom these out to get traffic ahead, the rendering is not very clear. Flipping to a no-route location-centered top-down North-oriented wideview map with traffic would provide the info needed at a glance.
However, to flip into that requires a lot of button pushing while driving. Better would be the ability to store two or more custom views and have a voice command to select among those custom map views.
Anyway, Nissan user-interaction designers, please take note..... |

| Figured out the split-screen feature of map view today. It's an acceptable substitute for what I described above, but not nearly as clean. But I do acknowledge the designers did think this through. |
