Hi Guys!... ordered an 09 LE Loaded but want to put remote start in it. Had one in my 06 MO put in by Circuit City. Any one put one in yet?
Also I plan on putting a new exhaust in my 09 like I did with my 06. Sounded like a sports car but with out the shift sounds. Anyone put in an aftermarket exhaust in their 09 yet?:D |

I too would be interested in know if a remote starter can be used in an 09 since I am in the market for one.
By the way, you said you ordered an 09. What timeframe did the dealer say the vehicle would arrive? I have been quoted 3 to 3 1/2 months. Just wondering what other dealers say. |

The remote start for my 06 cost about $400 installed (works great!). Circuit City did a great job. Going over there today to see if they can install one in an 09.
As far as ordering an 09, the dealer quoted me 6 to 8 weeks. I've heard others report that they got there's in about 6 weeks....We'll see! |

| According to Circuit City, they should not have any problems installing a remote start in a vehicle with "Pushbutton" start. You would have to give them your valet key which would be hidden inside a box under the dash. This would allow the remote start to recognize the codes. All other security features would remain in-tact. |

I see that you've ordered an LE. It comes with IntelligentKey.
It is different than just having Push Button ignition. On top of that, you only get two key fobs and NO valet key, so it is not as easy as he described, and I sense an additional bypass module or something else, which BB tech may or may not be aware of. I would re-confirm with BB that their Remote Start works with Intelligent Key, not just Push Button ignition. If they don't have a clue, walk away.

Hi Fitc...Are you saying you only got two key fobs and no valet key? If that's true, then what do you use when you valet your car or run it through the car wash? I usually give my wife one key fob and I keep the other. Doesn't leave a spare! On my 06 Mo I also had two key fobs but I also got a valet key!
I'll have to check with my dealer.
Thanks for the update! |

To correct my earlier post - I meant Circuit City...
Yes, you only get two remotes. Each remote has a mechanical key hidden inside. The situation with the Valet Key is reversed here - the mechanical key OPENS what the old valet key would NOT open. So when you valet your car or have it washed, you take the mechanical key OUT, and hand the empty remote to the driver, or better yet insert it into the assigned Port.
I don't think I would be happy losing one key fob to Remote Start, that's why I recommmend you double-check again. I read somewhere (maybe even here?) that there is some special module designed to deal with IntelligentKey issues, but I would feel better if the installer was aware of it BEFORE I brought my car in. Again, I have not investigated this in detail, as I am putting it off for next season when folks like yourself will tell us all about how it is done [ :) ] but I can confirm that you only get TWO Intelligent Keys with the LE.

I just checked with my dealer and FITC is correct about only getting two key fobs and that they contain a mechanical key inside.
As far as CC is concerned, they told me that they use an accessory module that houses a valet key (and I guess a key fob for the 09 MO) which is used in conjunction with the remote start module. The accessory module is another $50 plus installation (probably $25), plus the cost of an extra key fob (dealer told me it would cost $250!).
Anyway, my wife always gets the garage and I always park outside. The remote start to me is a necessity so I can de-ice or snow my car without having to open the doors (cheaper than building another garage!:8: |

There is a whole thread on this forum on Remote Start with IK.
http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/...=&threadid=4265
You might find it useful.
If you google Remote Start with Intelligent Key, you will find more info. Particularly interesting is this discussion:
http://www.myg37.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175136
Towards the bottom of Pg 1 there is mention of a CAN-BUS module that learns the IK codes, and therefore it does not require a key.
I think a couple of years ago you'd read that Remote Start w/IK could not be done. Now, new technologies and ways of dealing with the IK have emerged, and you'll find a range of products out there involving either losing one key to installation or buying a ~$50 module or sprinkling some Pixie Dust, etc...
Good luck, and let us now how it goes...

| I know the easy solution to this...... make ur wife park her car outside and your car inside..... :D :D :D .... then you can put the remote start on her car and not have to deal w/ all this intelligent key modification.... cheaper too w/out the extra $300 extra key fob and extra module.... |

You aren't taking into account the extra wear and tear thats going to happen to his couch with this plan. If he has a really nice couch that could end up costing him in the long run. |

The interesting thing is that the chance of me parking in the garage is nil AND my wife's car (09 Mazda CX-7 Loaded) has a Factory Remote Start which she rarely uses!
By the way, FITC, how are your first impressions with you're new LE? Any regrets? Or anything you would have changed on the MO you got? |

There are some regrets when compared to the 03, but they are more like annoyances really. Overall, I love what the 09 has to offer. At the end of the day though, it is just a car, albeit a very nice one, so it's not the end of the world if there are a few things I don't like or think are a downgrade from the 1st Gen Murano. I knew what I was getting going in.
I've compiled a list of Annoyances that irritate me to various degrees as a previous owner of an 03, but decided not to post it at the last moment, as I am trying to be positive...
