2009 Nissan Murano reliability info - ASAP - Click HERE for Original Thread

I've been posting about TrueDelta's research for a while now in this forum, and have either started collecting data or am about to for all of the first gen years.

But the research is even better for a new model like the 2009, because the process can provide results for a new model quickly if enough people sign up to participate.

The February results included a number of 2008s, including the Accord, G37, and Rogue.

I'd like to similarly provide extremely quick results for the 2009 Murano. The August update is a possibility.

Depends on how soon owners sign up.

A dozen of the 2009s are enrolled so far, so I've included the new Murano in the April survey.

Clearly more participants are going to be needed before I can provide a result. And I hope to provide a result in August.

So, if you have a 2009, I hope you'll sign up and participate. The surveys truly take very little time. And this will provide reliability info on the new Murano well before any other source.

We've gotten a few more, for a total of 15 now.

I'd very much like to have a full result for the 2009 in the August update. This is doable, but it's probably going to take a couple dozen more participants by the end of May.

If this does happen, it will be a key topic in the press release that attends those results, and this forum will get credit for making the result possible.

This isn't a marketing study.

This is a study to provide better reliability information to people who want it, based on data provided by these people. In short, this research is being conducted for the people who participate in it.

This isn't J.D. Power, which collects data so they can sell it to the manufacturers, and which as a result must severely limit what they provide to car buyers.

If you're not interested in the results, then I can understand why you wouldn't want to participate. But if you would like better information the next time you buy a car, then I hope you will participate.

Now up to 19.

If this growth continues, and the response rate is healthy, we'll have solid result in August. I hope we do, because having a result for a 2009 that soon should be newsworthy, and I will credit this forum with making a result possible.

The larger the sample size, the more impact any result will have.

Based on previous experience, we need 40 owners signed up. So about half way there.

A few more owners of the 2009 have signed up--total of 26 now.

A result in August seems likely, but with an asterisk for a small sample size. For a full result--one that I can display to the general public and mention in a press release crediting this forum--25 responses are needed. So it's going to be tight.

Another ten owners would make a full result much more likely.

Now 31. Past experience suggests we'll need about 40 for a full result in August.

In other words, a few more participants would be very helpful.

Now 37, so we don't quite have that forty.

There will be a result for the 2009 Murano in August, but it will likely have an asterisk for marginal sample size.

I hope to avoid that asterisk. If you've signed up to participate but haven't responded to the survey yet this month, please do. And if you haven't signed up, I hope you'll consider it
