| I have a 2003 Murano and recently replaced my rotors and brake pads w/ NAPA parts. Ever since the replacement, there is a small metal on metal scraping sound when do a hard turn right or left. The scraping sound is not present when driving straight or when the brakes are applied. I took the car in for a brake inspection to see if there was anything wrong with the brake work. The tech could hear the sound during hard turns but could not determine the source of the scraping. There were no visible signs where there was metal on metal scraping. Any suggestions on things that could be the cause? Are Murano's really particular when it comes to replacing w/ non-nissan branded brakes? |

| It almost seems like the wrong brake pads (i.e. wrong shape) were installed, or installed backwards. My first guess for a scraping noise after a brake job was improper installation (pad/shims) or maybe a bent metal component (not sure if the rears have a metal heat/dust shield behind the rotor, but a lot of cars do). |

Welcome to the forum.
Seeing that the noise only occurs when turning and not when the brakes are applied, that would lead me to believe the splash guard may be touching the backside of the rotor.
