| Hi All. Been a while since I post here on the GREATEST SITE EVER. I have a little problem. Wanna re-spray my front & rear bumpers cause of some dents and scratches but i don't what is the exact color to match. I've looked by the driver's side door but only saw the tire preasure numbers. Can anyone tell how to go about getting the exact color code?...it looks like a light Golden color, but it's not all Golden. Thanks. Homms. |

It looks like you have the Platinum Pearl. As I do myself. |

if you take it to a good body shop... they can match the paint pretty good
there was also this thread a while ago about a company that sells painted body parts at a good price.... |

I appreciate the feedback but they were not what i was looking for from "ONE OF THE BEST SITES EVER". (notice the demotion).
ben: I live in Africa (Nigeria)...'nough said.
Eclipse: how does Platinum Pearl even look like?..while looking at the main Nissan site I saw the types of colors that they come in, and from what i saw the one that best matched what my eyes saw(regarding my MO), was either Chardonnay (EY0) or Luminous Gold (E12). these numbers are not from MY car but came along with the colors on their site.
to me they look extremely similar. If I make a mistake choosing one, and taking it to our un-proffesional sprayers here...the results could be awful. |

| Homms- did you paint that grill yourself? I have the same color and considering what color to paint it. I am either going to paint it flat black or body color along with the inside of my headlight to match. Do you have more pics of yours? That looks pretty cool! |

H;
Normally the body shops get the colour from the VIN # code within it. However; I don't know how that's going to help you get the paint even if you knew what the colour is.
I wonder if there are any "online" sellers that could get you the paint that would also be able to determine the code for your car colour? |

This may help.

Homms'03Murano-
How are you doing, my friend?
Let's see if we can get you the answer you are looking for.
The paint code is listed on the FMVSS Certification Label located at the base of the pillar between the front and rear doors. See the attached diagram. The color and trim is printed on the bottom two lines of the label.

Homms-
The following information is from Nissan's Service Bulletin NTB02-110 entitled Nissan 2003 Model Refinish Paint Codes.
Your paint code should be one of these.
Are we now back to being the "GREATEST SITE EVER"? ;)

Homms-
The information in the attached chart explains the codes in columns 3, 4, and 5 in the paint code chart.
The Service Bulletin also cross-references paint colors from various manufacturers (BASF, Dupont, PPG, Standox, Sherwin-Williams, Akzo/Sikkens, and Spies Hecker).

"To alll the guys i've know before" & now thru Nissanmurano.org & who replied to my un-successful bid to locate the color code for the mo....I say a big thank you & have to single you out for Mention (ain't I full of my self..??):
Eclipse, Benhui, Kaos81, Bikerjohn & Njjoe....
This is what i finally did. Thru God's favour I was able to find my code EY0 & moreover ACTUALLY find the ACTUAL paint here in Nigeria. I had the areas I wanted to touch up done and I'll post up pics of the end result....IF ONLY I CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO THAT.
I'll update my avatar to show the final look, but you guys wont really appreciate how it turned out.....
Thanks Guys.

Homms-
I am glad you found what you were looking for.
Doesn't your MO have the FMVSS Certification Label I pointed out in the above diagram? If not, what country was you MO first sold in? Was it Nigeria? Or was it imported from somewhere else?

To post a picture; it will have to be first on your computer. The photo should not be more than 102400 bytes in size with a file extension: gif; jpg; png; txt; zip; bmp or jpeg.
There is a box just below "Your Reply" box (after hitting the "Post a Reply") that is noted as "Attach file". To the right is where you can upload or "Browse" your computer for your photo to upload your image from the computer.
The other method to getting photos onto this site is to go to your "Member Gallery" section and download some images into your Gallery where the size of the images won't matter too much.
Good luck and let us see! |

Njjoe: according to my VIN, my MO was manufacture in "Nakaya???"" in Japan (don't quote me on the name/spelling cause been a while since i checked the interpretation of my VIN).
It was sold in Canada first then moved to the US, b4 it made its trans-continental journey to Nigeria, AFRICA. Also, your charts were very imformative and useful, thanks man.
Bikerjohn: I've been around PCs for close to 2 decades & believe you me I know the process of uploading/attaching stuff...LOL. the bloody "wahala" (Local slang here meaning problem) is that I CAN'T FIND THE DAMN ATTACH FILE ANYWHERE HERE ON NISSANMURANO.ORG...
:( ..So, if you're willing I can email you some of my baby's pics and u can help me put them in my gallery (if at all possible) or you can put them in your Gallery for me. I believe they're really HOT!!!.
2moro I'm having the Calipers re-sprayed.....with my Mo's exterior body color...think it'll turn out fine...when i do that you get the pics too...
Thanks my friends and hook up with you soon.
