I am replacing an Acura RL which I have loved driving for the last three years but now I want a change. And the RL is admittedly a little dull.
So I started the quest for a replacement. I have test driven:
The M35/45 (boring car with ugly interior)
The RDX (thrilling but sensory overload)
Highlander (like driving a tall building)
Lexus E350/400h (like driving a tall bed)
X3 (low tech rough ride no interest)
and looked at lots of other cars.
The EX35 is unspeakably ugly and not an option.
I couldn't find anything I liked and was about to go for the 2009 RL when I saw a Nissan dealer and thought - let's take a look!
And then, I fell in love. The new Murano is great! Wow! I haven't obtained one yet but I am getting lease quotes lined up for a fully loaded LE without the DVD entertainment system. Black paint, black seats.
Three questions:
1. If there is one thing I am not crazy about it's the orange lights around the gauges. Anyone have any thoughts about that? (It is truly the only issue I have with the car and certainly not a showstopper.)
2. I notice that in many pictures online including on the Murano website (link below) the backgrounds of the gauges are black. But the gauges in all the Muranos I have seen at the dealership have pale backgrounds. What's the story?

3. Is the iPhone compatible with (i) the Bluetooth and (ii) the iPod interface?
I tried my iPhone in an Infiniti M35 which has a similar system and it caused big problems with my phone.
Thanks. I'm looking forward to participating in this forum. |

Fred,
I had the same problem with the orange lights around the guages. Good news is you can turn them off via the menu in the information display below the speedo. If I remember, they are called "dash effects" and you can select "off" to get rid of them. Much easier on the eyes at night. |
