Hi everyone... first-time Poster here !

Just a couple of questions for anyone out there.

1) What agreements are in place between the USA and Canada with regards to Cross-Border Shopping of NISSAN Murano's ? I've sent some notes off to NISSAN Dealers in the US and they replied... "NO, we can't help you".

I was shown some Loaded Murano LE's with AWD here in Alberta, that had a Sticker Prices of close to $51,000 CAN. With our Dollar so close to the US Dollar, why are you guys down South, buying them for $35-39,000 and your Stickers are $40-42,000 ?

2) Does anyone know of a Site that discusses Sticker Prices and Invoice Prices for Murano's un US Dollars as well as in Canadian ?

I need to better understand what the deal is about "Invoice". You guys talk about the "Invoice" price. Who tells you what this is... and where can I find "Canadian Invoice" prices ?

I got a half a Brain to fly to the US for a Holiday and drive one Home... but only if the following conditions are met:

1) Warranty issues.
2) DRL's retrofits, Immobilizer, Out of Country inspection.

I found one site that says the Murano does NOT qualify to come acroos the Border, but I wonder if the list is up to date... it doesn't have a lot of 2009's on it.

Thanks for your help...

The statement :

Is basically correct, it is probably the they have not got the 09 murano put on the list. Maybe they are only doing the 08 and will not look at the 09 till next year. We know how govt works. Good Luck

Dino; welcome!
There was a Canadian poster last week that posted that he purchased and brought over a new MO. He was on the west coast(BC I thnik). He did mention that he would follow up with details of where; how much and how he brought over the new MO.
The one issue with purchasing a new "untitled" car is; who pays the state taxes?
Here are some links to Canada's How-To bring cars over the boarder:

Hopefully the other poster will follow up with some more details....

BTW- there is no warranty issues; it comes with the vehicle-not ownership so you're ok there.

I don't follow what you mean...

My interpertation is that once a NISSAN Murano is bought by a Canadian at a US Dealership and then taken across the border to be registered in Canada... the Factory Warranty is then void.
BikerJohn
The factory warranty stay with the vehicle where ever it goes; it stays with the car.;)
Dino
So why does this site say... that the Warranty is null and void if a Vehicle comes from the USA to be registered in Canada ?

The list was updated... March/08

That is new information to me. Thank you very much for posting that; I was not aware of the new coverage.
Have you contact Nissan Canada to see how warranty issue is handled here?
I'd be curious since I too was interested about cross-boarder shopping.
I wonder if this was put in place to discourage US shopping for us Canucks?
