Hi. I recently replaced my non-Bose unit with the Bose one. After the installation I realized the the audio quality is worst. I think is because the non-Bose has some kind of embedded amp already. But since I would like to use the Bose unit, I need advise from you guys to buy a small, good, easy to install and not too expensive amp. Any suggestion?
Thanks,

You are kidding, right?
The non-Bose unit has a built-in audio amp, while the BOSE unit has a remote audio amp located on the shelf just ahead of the spare tire.

Interesting swap.....how did it go? Was it just a matter of unplugging your Non-Bose and plugging in your new Bose? Where did you get your Bose system?
Any amp will do for your new HU. I doubt that your car would be pre-wired to accept the Bose amp any way.
Your best bet is to hit your local sound shop(Best Buy..etc) and have them put in one that fits your pocket book. Good luck with that. |

Hey
I jsut finished adding OEM Navigation to my Murano, and
of course I upgraded my standard OEM radio to the Bose
6 disc CD changer radio, but instead of a Bose amp I put
a 4 channel Alpine Amp in place of the Bose Amp to drive
the upgraded Head Unit. It sounds great.!!! Plus now I have
upgraded to the 6 disc changer also. It was worth it to me.

Well, I replaced my broken (non-Bose) unit with a used Bose unit that I got from eBay. I used this web page (http://www.murano04.org/) to unmount it; it's really accurate. I have more pictures if anyone is interested. It took me more than 5 min, but it was reasonable; it was my first time doing this. The replacement of the units were really straight forward. I tested the Bose unit, and everything works as it should. All radio keys and CD as well as the A/C knobs, etc. I didn't test the cassette deck. The LCD display also worked as expected. It displayed the CD information for the 6 discs.
So, Jim (07Murano) did you install the Alpine amp by yourself? Could you please share with me details of the amp and the installation?
Thanks,

Hey Jaun
I did not install the Alpine amp myself. Actually, the Bose Head
Unit will work without the Amp, but it not very loud and sounds
at best just O.k. But now with the Amp installed it really sounds
good!
Thanks Jim |

Jim,
So I if you didn't do the installation, I guess you took your MO to an specialized car shop. Anyway, what's the model # of the Alpine amp?
Thanks,

Hey
The Amp that I had put in was a Alpine 4 Channel
#MRP-F300 75 Watts RMS x 4. The Amp they located
exactly where the Bose one would go and works great
for my needs.
