Can those UGLY yellow & white airbag/seatbelt safety stickers on the sun visors be "successfully" removed? My memory is still pretty good, so I really don't think I need to keep them up there for reference. I'm thinkin' my chances for success would be best when they're "fresh", like when I pick the car up from the dealer on Monday. I'm looking for some guidance here. Any success stories or horror "glue residue" stories? I really wish they would make those warning labels like the ones I find attached to my pillows! Thanks in advance and take care!

Jim-
Why would you want to remove them? Don't you reference them every time you get behind the wheel? You probably don't listen to the flight attendants either, when they tell you your seat cushion can be used as a flotation device after you fall 50,000 feet at 500 mph and crash in the frigid ocean.
Search the archives. Others have tried to remove the labels.... with mixed results.

| If you ever sell your MO you might want to keep those stickers on for various reasons. |

heat gun/hair dryer and goo gone
use the heat sparingly though... might melt something...
or you can just try peeling at it without heat to see if that works... and then rub the glue out with goo gone |

Gonzo-
As stupid as that sounds, you are probably correct. I could see the next owner trying to sue Jim or Nissan because the labels were missing and he didn't realize the MO would flip if he turned the wheel sharply at 120 MPH. There are some real idiots out there.:4:

| you can just stick it back on with some random paper craft glue if you need it later.... |

Well, I'm picking up the new LE in a few hours and hope I can refrain from trying to peel back one of the corners of the label. Yes, it's kind of like an OCD thing with me and labels, stickers, tags, etc. If I can abide by the "90 day rule" (after 90 days, you're on to worrying about something else and it doesn't bother you anymore), I should be in great shape. Just thought of this idea though… wouldn't it be great if cars equipped with Nav or an information screen could have the safety label info flash on the screen for 10 seconds or so when you started the car. Kinda' like the FBI warnings on video tapes and DVDs. You get used to seeing them, but at least you're not looking at them all the time. Take care!

I have to admit that when I first got my MO I, too, was annoyed by those ridiculous warning labels plastered on my sun-visor. However, after a short while I learned to ignore them and soon forgot all about them. That is until you brought them back up and forced me to acknowledge them once again. Curse you, red kiosk!! :3:

I don't think I'll have any trouble dealing with the safety labels, way too many other neat things to look at. God, this car is beautiful. Just got through poppin' in a set of Weathertech floorliners and two of their indestructible license plate frames. The gloss black ones match the Super Black paint perfect. I must of been the first owner that any of the salespeople saw hook up an iPod in the adaptor. It was like five salespeople standing around while I plugged in my daughters 2Gen mini. When the Nissan logo flashed on the iPod screen, everyone quickly glanced to the Nav screen and said "All right!" as the first song started playing. It works like a charm. A moment to remember. Take care!

| As my 04 Pathfinder LE's labels became a bit dogeared, I helped take them to a "better place" - pressed in between the pages of my warranty book :) But the residue from the goo and bit of wrinkling of the fabric wasn't much nicer to look at... |

LeMurano-
If I remember correctly, there was one forum member who did what you did, hated the resulting mess, and had the visors recovered at a custom shop. From what I recall, it was relatively cheap to have them covered in a fabric that was very similar to OEM. That might be worth looking into.

Maybe, but now it's the dealer's problem :) I have that week old 09 Mo to look at now! |

If you do peel them off and have glue residue left on the vinyl; you can remove that with lighter fluid. Squirt some of a rag and then rub it into the glue area wiping in one direction. Comes off like a charm.
Make sure that you're not having a smoke while ou are doing it:2: :2:
I'm sure that once it's gone; no one will ever know that they were there in the first place. |

If your gonna get them re-upholstered you might as well not even try to remove it, right?
I tried removing them out of my last car and it just made a mess so I left my MO alone. |

| THIS IS THE DUMBEST THREAD EVER !!! Leave the dam sticker alone, it doesn't look that bad, you never notice it after a while and it's there for safety reasons. Who the heck cares about a sticker on the visor !!!! Just my 2 cents... :D |

No, we have had worse. Need I remind you of Gonzo's "Ignore This Post" thread? While it could earn the top spot for the dumbest thread, it is also one of the most enjoyable. :2:
There really are no "dumb threads" on this forum. You may not agree with what others perceive as problems, but to them they are true problems and they are seeking out solutions.
Since I am 6' 3" I sit high up in the car and the garish labels are not far from my sight-line. If there was an easy way to remove them I would certainly do so.
