| I have a new 09 LE and after about a week I noticed the plastic dealer's front license plate frame was broken and the license plate was literally bent. I didn't think too much of it but it happened again! Does anyone have any idea what caused this and how to prevent it? I don't think I hit anything - the car itself remains pristine... |

Well, if you didn't hit anything then I would look for unusually strong magnetic fields in your area, or maybe a neighbor with the last name of Kreskin, or another neighbor with the first name of Neo, or it could be your MO trying to rid itself of that hideous dealer frame. Take your pick.

Ben,
Thanks, I think it must be something like this. The license plates are as thin as paper. |

| Have you taken the car through an automatic car wash with tornado sponge brushes? My front plate always got bent forward to the mounting bolt going through my local wash...:4: |

John,
That is a great suggestion!!!! Yes, I do that |

| I fixed my problem by purchasing a chrome metal framed plate holder with a clear plastic face protecting the front surface of the plate. The metal frame keeps the edges of the licence plate from catching on the sponge brushes. No problems since;) |

o god.... automatic car washes...... one of the worst things you can do to a car's finish..... those things will cause swirls with the dirty brush and those massive flaping chamois of death put straight linear scratchs on all the horizontal panels.... those brushes whip your car so bad it bends license plate and twist antennas.... what do you think it does to your paint.... if you ever find out what a proper paint finish should look like and wish to make your car look like it.... its going to take quite a lot of work to take the damage out.....

go here to find out how to properly wash your car or at least where you can take it to have a proper car wash..... |
