Traded-in my MO - Click HERE for Original Thread

It was about time. The bumper-to-bumper warranty was going to expire in mid-Summer, and I just did not want to deal with the Nissan organization anymore. They should be barred from ever again using the phrase "Customer Service" in their advertising. They are just that bad.

When I first got the MO I enjoyed the experience of driving a relatively rare automobile. It reminded me of my MG Midget days when Midgets were few and far between, and the owners knew they were the last of a dying breed. MOs are popping up all over the place now. Every parking lot finds dozens of them. Driven by PTA moms and packed with rug rats. The uniqueness has worn off.

I wanted another car that was as unique as the MO was in 2005. I wanted something different. I wanted something that would make other drivers stop and take notice.

I always liked the retro look of the early PT Cruisers but was leaning towards a more classic look like that of an older Mercedes Benz. I had been a Chrysler fan ever since I heard my neighbor's '71 Hemi 'Cuda, so an older "retro-look" Chrysler was looking like the front-runner. But the timeless beauty of an older Benz was still high on my list .

The search was on.

Then I found it. The best of both worlds. A car that had both the "retro" lines of the PT Cruiser and the classic look of the older Benz's. An early product of the now-defunct Daimler-Chrysler
marriage.

I bought it used, and the front-end needs a bit of alignment work, but the car demonstrates just how well the German and American engineers and designers worked together under the Daimler-Chrysler umbrella.

What do you think? A worthy replacement for my MO?

Really funny.....:3:

As I was reading through it all I could think about was "Oh no.... now who is going to be answering all of the MO questions...."

Then I saw the front end and my eyes crossed.....

Now I have a head ache too. :o

Yes. :4: I think Nissan N.A. has a lot to learn about customer service and support.

Most very well played indeed! My screen positioned where I could not see the image until I finished reading your content; then I scrolled down to see it. Fabulous!

Joe; I bet that Benz would parallel park REALLY well:D

LOL! Great April Fools joke! You had me going too!

I am VERY happy with my service department (Douglas Nissan in Huntington Beach, particularly Peter Gohil.) He's done an outstanding job and has made my Nissan ownership experience very satisfying. My brother, on the other hand, had horrible experiences with Universal City Nissan and will never own another Nissan product. It's unfortunate as my wife and I absolutely love our Murano.

I looked at the picture first... so you never had me. HA HA :D

Joe,

You had me for a while there. I was really "feelin' your pain", especially when you were talking about the MG Midget you owned. While I was going to college, I worked part time in the parts department of a British Leyland dealership. In those foot-loose and fancy single days, I owed various MGAs, MGBs and was driving a mint, French Blue Triumph Stag when I met my wife. One year later… I watched a new owner drive off with the Stag and I started a 22 year run with Chrysler minivans. They worked well for all that I did during that phase of my life and we were always a one-car family. Well, I ended that run on Monday and started a new phase. To quote my 16 year-old daughter, who just got her license last week, "Whooah Dad, this is our family car?" It feels so good driving around in this Black/Black LE. Take care!

I don't post much anymore, but I read a lot. I didn't see the picture
before reading and forgot about it being 4/1/2008. Thought oh no,
first info JAAK leaves, not info JOE too.
