I recently bought a 2004 SL Murano w/55,000 mi. Everything is working well except for a couple of issues. Can anyone offer some advice on these?
1. Under light acceleration at 35mph, the engine does not run smoothly, it seems like there is a slight hesitation that appears to smooth out after 40mph or under harder acceleration. What could be causing this?
2. Poor FM radio reception...much static!
Thank you in advance for any comments! |

What type of gas you use? Premium or regular? I have the same problem when I use regulars. |

1)- How is the air filter under the hood? Check to make sure that it's clean.
2)- The FM signal problem might be caused by the antenna cable coming out slightly from the back of the Head Unit. This cable is also the grounding line for the HU. Check that by pulling out the HU and fimly inserting the antenna cable. |

| There was also an issue that would cause poor FM reception... that was the screw used to attached the antenna to the MO was not tight enough. You can get to it from inside the car. If you search you will find it. I can't remember if 04's were effected by this. I know 03's where. |

| I use regular. I went to the dealer today. They said there was no problem and that the engine is normal. $35,000 car with engine vibration as normal...I tend to doubt it. Thank you to each one of you that took time to respond. I apprecaite it and will keep you updated. I am going back to the dealer...this time, I'm taking them for a ride (literally). |

I think that is the problem, you are using regular, I had the problem too that is why I don't use regular now...only premium,
Try it for a tank and see my 2 cents |

| I am going to try the premo in the old MO and see what happens. My radio, though the bolt has been tightened, has no better reception. |

Have a look behind the HU to check the antenna cable to make sure it's inserted all the way. |

| HU? From a previously response, I'm thinking you mean Head Unit. I just don't know what that is exactly. If it is the whole radio unit, it seems a fix that could be somewhat intimidating to fix. What is your opinion? |

Yes; you are correct. The HU is the radio head unit and it really is not that hard to take out. It takes about 5 - 10 mins to do. Here is the link of the step-by-step that has been posted before. Cheers.

| Thanks for the radio removal link. It doesn't look to difficult. I wouldn't have figured it out though without the pictures. Thank you. |

| Good news....I put super unleaded in today. What a shocker! Not only did it take care of the hesitation, but increased MPG! With the increase in MPGs, the cost of one mile on regular unleaded vs one mile on super unleaded is equal, though I think that on the highway, the mile cost on the super unleaded will be less than the regular unleaded. Thank you for the advice. Talk about more bang for the buck at the pump. |

| Oh, forgot to mention...I got a vanity plate this past week. It is LITL MO however it has a double meaning. My husband's name is Mo and well, we all know how MO relates to the Murano :) |
