opinions on sunroof wind deflectors? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi all,

Does anyone have a sunroof winddeflector on their '09 MO?

What is your general opinion on them for anyone that has had one on an '09 or other vehicle? Do they seem to help with wind noise? Also, has anyone compared the nissan oem one with the weathertech one? How hard are they to install?

And finally, do you know when they will be available to purchase separately from nissan for the '09?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

I started without, and added one (to my 2005), so I've had it both ways.

Having the deflector makes it a LOT quieter when the sunroof is open all the way, but it makes it noisier when it's just tipped up.

It also seems to reduce the amount of airflow that gets into the car, so if you want just an opening but not wind coming in, it's very nice. If you actually want to feel a breeze from your sunroof, then you probably don't want it.

Other catch is that it does protrude over the opening a bit, so on the 2005 where the sunroof doesn't open all the way you are making that opening even smaller.

I like it, and I've left it on, but it really depends on how you want your sunroof to behave.
